You can keep it! We've had about an inch fall this weekend and a dusting this morning. With the local economy and the amount of salt they plan on using this year I think I will just put on the skates to get to work.

I want snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had some a few days ago but none since. I'm sure some is on it's way, based on the looks of the sky. BLEHHH :faint:

Here in SC record breaking low for today!! Man I'm not looking forward to the cold. Jumped up on this ol gal to soon! I still have things to do outside-- a park has to dressed up in all its Christmas glory this weekend... could use help if any of you work for food. McD's feeds helpers. I'll post photos when it's in its glory, it is afreebee but my grands have something grandma help make happen for the township. It is free for all to visit and see Santa in a real Log Cabin. Carriage rides, singing, about 175 displays!! If I can find the Christmas
get-up-and do-it!! So far I can't get fired up about Christmas, any one else?
I've been playing Christmas music.May be I need to add some cheer with it.Whatever it's cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny, the older I get, the more appreciative I become of the seasons and their gifts. We have a bit of snow here, with more to come I'm sure.

I just got back from the dog park where my two charges ran with sheer joy and wild abandon the entire time. I happily walked (quickly) enjoying the puffs of breath before me, the cheek blushing (all four) coldness, and the comraderie the weather does bring.

I'm glad I'm here to enjoy it.

I will not hate winter quite so much this year as we just had a fireplace insert installed into our existing fireplace that we never used. In just a few hours it warmed up to 74 degrees in here! I love it! It is a wood burning fire insert so should save us some money on gas and electric heat!

If you have a regular fire place I highly recommend it!

Ellen, you never cease to amaze me with the amount of things you can get accomplished! By what day does the park have to be finished? And has your daughter been able to come home from the hospital yet?

Well, I for one would love to see some snow this year.......Doesn't need to last but for a day or two.....long enough for me to be Uncle Ricky and get to play with my eight year old neice in the snow.

It's 82 here today. That's the kind of winter weather I can get behind.

After 49 years in California, I was so happy to move to Washington state... we actually have seasons here... spring is glorious, summer doesn't usually exceed the high 80s/low 90s, beautiful colors in the fall, a little bit of snow in the winter (just enough for fun)! I know it sounds odd, but I got really tired of that blue sky, no clouds, just blue and nothing else, for months on end! The sky here is really interesting... always something going on, and often quite dramatic! Love it!

my heating bill for the poinsettia greenhouses was $837. for the month of October.

From here on out, it goes to $2K, then to $3.5K topping out around $4.5K in Feb.

wanna guess where I fall on the let it snow/no snow issue.

I feel for ya. I had no idea heating costs for greenhouses could be that much! Who made poinsettias the Christmas plant anyway??

Snowing here.

I saw the Aurora Borealis last night.

Great start.

Doug, the view from my picture window is glorious. Each day and night I am given a different work of art. The Aurora Borealis stills everything around me. It's a wonderful path to dreams.

My apartment faces north and I have an uninterrupted visual to downtown London. The glass buildings in the core refract the wintery sunrise directly to my livingroom and sets Atlanta on fire every day (I have a mounted Gone with the Wind movie poster on my wall). I am most fortunate.

How low does it go???

22-27 the last several days. 8-12 inches of snow... lots of wind... I think I hear Santa's elves working north of here...

We run around in sweatshirts most of the winter... tennis shoes, too. It's only the -25 days that we bother with coats and boots. You just learn to get used to it!

v, have you been nipping at the Schnaps? ;)

Nope, just drawing word pictures... it's a habit. Don't need Schnaps (tried it once... yuck).
