I was born in during the great blizzard of '63 in Thunder Bay (back then it was Port Arthur) Ontario. High tailed it as quick as I could to Texas; that white stuff is freak'n cold!
Enjoy your crisp air guys. Today, I drove aroung with the convertable top down.
Yee Haw!

Gees what I'd give to enjoy a walk in the crisp air and a fresh falling blanket of snow, haven't seen it for 5 years now. I was born in northern Ontario.I'm a bit jealous V.

I was born in Timmins and lived in Port Arthur and Fort William. :) We moved to Calgary eventually and then back to Ontario. I would miss the seasons.

Environment Canada is calling for a "colassal" winter storm for our area... :) I don't know that I've ever heard them use the word colassal before.

the comraderie the weather does bring.
V
V... I suppose you're talking about the comraderie with people cold weather brings...

But, I truly love the connection with nature even bad weather (bad is good in my book) brings. I love to stand outdoors in a blizzard or destructive thunder storm and just soaking up the powerful energy a storm provides...

Good weather is nice... but give me the furry of a storm! :thumbsup

You're right Mark. The dogs in a dog park always manage to inspire conversation and laughter... couple it with the weather and boom, you've got comraderie. :)

I too love a good storm... although I can do without the fury part. I've been a witness to too much destruction to enjoy that aspect of it. The power does put things in to perspective most times.

Once in a great while, we here in the south get what we call an ice storm.....knocks power out for days on end, everythng covered, trees, decks, ground in a half inch sheet of ice, roads covered in black ice, people going down the road sideways, backwards and every other kind of slide you can do in a car, ....... like the snow, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE the ice.

So the next hurricane that comes, you have an open invite..of course you can stand outside in the wind and see the power of the thing...but the hurricane shutters go up first...lol
I'll put your name at the top of the list...my son will be thrilled to get out of that job!....

I'm with you Boss... I just stand in wonder at the storms... God letting us know how small we are and how we need to come together. I will help you put up those hurricane shutters!!

btw... snowing again!!!! YEA!!! This is why I moved back to the Great White North... you guys can keep the hot stickies... I might visit, but there's no place like home :kyle

whoo hooo the snow is missing us! Just getting lint flakes as we are just outside the lake effect band. The next county over is getting another 12" today.

Its colder than cold and very windy tho. Crappy snowy weather just makes for less business [unless you sell bread, eggs, milk, beer] and it already is quiet.

I have a nephew driving home from Michigan Tec next week! hope he makes it.

Ellen, you never cease to amaze me with the amount of things you can get accomplished! By what day does the park have to be finished? And has your daughter been able to come home from the hospital yet?

My Dear Friend Connie, your so kind. I'm not the only one who works on the Park. But I have areas that I do handle on my own. Park opens 29th!!!!!
Today I want to be outside, It's warm and beautiful !!!! But I got to make a $ or 2 to keep my doors open!! Dang it !!!! Can't have everything you want.
There are more displays this year than ever, going to nice. How does Christmas in the Making sound? Boy got so much to do Don't know where to start!!!!

Ok, I am pretty sure my ancestors landed on the wrong continent. I have such an aversion to snow and lack of sunlight. I so wish I could have Victoria's positive outlook......I have even tried over the years to embrace the snow, skiing and such, but alas, it's just not happening.

:) My car is going to be a lump in a snowbank if this keeps up. Love my small car, but not on snow days.

V

No snow here yet but it's a bit chilly.
The quad cab dually is ready for the white stuff but I'm not looking forward to it.
So if you all want to keep it I would not mind at all.
