Thanks all for the messages - it is a little dasunting coming into a group like this where it is more like Cheers - everyone knows your name - I am hoping to get some feedback - but am leery of posting out for the world to see. Seems like everyone wants to give you a piece of their mind and at times - be more than a piece.... seems pretty safe here...

Douglas

Doug-- definitely safe waters here! Never any sharks. You will find this group very helpful, informative, and forgiving! This is truly a good natured bunch. Please do post when you need a question answered, would like to contribute to a thread, or just to vent or share a laugh.

Welcome Doug!

I was in your position not too long ago....There is a whole group here that are in a relatively close proximity to each other...and like the Cheers scenario, I figured I was a bit out of the loop. But it really isn't like that! Granted, I'm not going to see all of you at the shows in Chicago, but after becoming a more active poster (ie:don't lurk) you'll start to feel a lot more at home!

As for being new to the biz...Sometimes (a lot of times) in this business I've found that shop owners that have been around for many many years are reluctant to *change* and *adapt*. I'm young and new (biz for about 4 years or so), but I've been in the industry my whole life. Some of our "newbie" perspectives may not be "the norm", but they WORK for what we have going for us *today*. So feel free to speak your mind! What you have to contribute may be different than what others are used to, but may work very well, too! In a nutshell, this group is a HUGE help when you're new! But don't be afraid to give everyone a new idea here and there. We all need to continue to learn and grow. :)

Dana

"Who is the enemy?" is a better question.
FTD, Teleflora, 800-Flowers, OGs???
Bloomz might want to include CIA, FBI, DEA, NSA, DOT, FCC and several others. :)

George Freaking Bush, that's who...

I'll tell you. They can see everything, with the possible exception of BOSS's private Advantage Users forum. The only thing they cannot do is post.

Ryan, I'm afraid Carol is right. I just logged out. All the cookies were cleared. Exited out of IE and went back into FlowerChat. It told me I cound not post but it allowed me to view all the messages in every forum.
If you think about it, why would there be a Guest account if they could not view anything?
George,

The issue might have to do with your browser's cache ... I'll investigate further. But just so you know, when I browse FlowerChat with a browser that has never logged in, the only forum I can see is the FlowerSoft forum - I left that one open because George likes it when people watch ;)

Just to be clear - new people who have not logged in CANNOT view the forums.

BTW George, is that Allie M. on your avatar? If so, I don't see how you manage to get an programming done with her and Cindy in the office!!

Well, that might be the case. I will try to log in today using a browser that has never logged in.
As far as leaving the flowerSoft forum open, please do, if that is possible.
And, no that is not Allie M. on my avatar. To be honest with you, she's better looking than that! And I'm not kidding. Maybe I'll post her picture since she's too shy to do it herself. Can I, Allie?
However, I must say that I have received several PM asking for copies of the picture and at least one inquiry asking if she was my daughter and if he could have her hand in marriage. ;)

Visible threads

When I close my browsers, a program runs that completely removes ANYTHING placed on my systems...

Everytime I go back to FC, I have to log in again...the only thing visible without log'n in is the FS forum...

Yep, that's the way it is behaving today. Not the way it was working yesterday. Everything was visible. Maybe Ryan changed something.

No, Georgie :) you cannot......

George,

I didn't change anything ... sorry. Nothing to change, it was already set that way.

As for the Allie pic ... PM it to me :)

Ryan

Allison!

Maybe you could add you sexy voice to the mix? HAHAHAHA

I love a good NoooYourk accent! and yours is sweet!.

Sorry guys, I told you she was shy. I can't understand why anyone who looks like her does not want her picture posted.
Once, I think at a Teleflora show, I told her she had to introduce me and she almost fainted from the stress. I had to introduce myself. :)
