whatever they're selling, my brother-in-law sells it, too. ;)

My son in law is as talented as your brother in law! He's a roofer, financial manager, insurance expert and designs websites! He gets a kick out of it when I tell him.

You thought it was bad in 06!

Oh I am so glad someone found this thread! You thought soliciting was bad back then...how about now?

Today, I had 3 calls within 15 minutes while I was trying to wait on a customer. We are mostly a 2 woman shop so I am usually here by myself.

We too have a sign which does NO good. I usually look the solicitor right in the eye and say, I am not interested. If they keep on, then I say, "I am not interested but thanks for stopping by. You have a great day!"

I do that on the phone too. I try to be very polite and say that I am not interested and thank you for calling.

There are times that I am a little rude. Like when TF calls and says I need another web-site in addition to the one I have. If I get one more call like that, I am going to ask "them" how many web-sites does Teleflora have that is for the public?

When a salesperson comes into my shop, I tell them politely that I am not interested. Then I start to tell them about the beautiful flowers I have or whatever special I'm running. Once they realize that I am selling to them, they take off out the door.
