I use Jordan Essentials' Satin Shea Butter, I apply before work and after I am cleaning buckets. I also put it on at night before bed then my hands remain soft and don't get cracked.

I too use superglue. Works great when it splits at the fingertips near the nails. It wears off after a few days and so far no ill effects

Anyone have a great remedy for splits on your fingers? We get them every
year, a small split on the tip of the important fingers, like the thumb and
forefingers and they are impossible to heal. Every pine needle finds its
way to that precise opening and festers the cut again.
Very hard to type with those splits , not to mention every other task a
florist has to do. I do bag balm at night and the throbbing will stop by
morning. But, once the day starts the splits split open again.
Any ideas?
i always use neosporin and a band aid before i go to bed. it takes away the throbbing almost immediately and in the morning, you can hop back on the horse without much pain at all.

try soaking your fingers in hot (as hot as you can stand it) milk. An old remedy from my grandfather's day. Worked for him, and works for me and my father to this day.

Bag balm or "Udder Cream" - and Vanicream (Is better) have worked for me... I have had to see the dermatologist and now use a steroid cream that is some 110.00 a tube, and very effective.

Bag Balm for finger splits

I used to get split fingers doing geranium cuttings and my wife and daughters got them from design work. Bag balm at bed time works great.
It comes in a square green can. Some of the big drug chains stock it.
Those are cows tits on the can. that's the bag it was made for, but it protected the farmer's hands at the same time.
