I am not a member of Teleflora, I do fill there orders when they call, with a CC.
Today they called and said as usual, "We have a teleflora order for you"
Employee responded, "we are not teleflora, but will fill with a CC"
They Gave the order #, it was for the T-cup with roses, alstromaria etc., for $36.95 total, going to a rural town 15 miles away. My employee told them we had a $12.00 delivery to that town, and could not fill it for that price, plus we do not have a T-cup, so we could not help them.
They called back 15 min later and asked for the same thing, we responded the same, The operator then asked "What is your name?" She gave them her name, and they said to her, "We are writing down your name with your rejection, I just want you to know that." Carol, my employee said "Well, ok, fine" The operator said, "Are you sure you don't want to fill this before I do that?" Carol responded, "We can't fill this order for you, i'm sorry" The operator repeated again, "well then, your name is going on the rejection"
She hung up the phone and asked "What is going on, should I have taken it"
I told her that she did the right thing. We didn't have the T-cup, we couldn't fill the order without a delivery chg. and I am not teleflora, and am not obligated to filling it for them.
I figure that they are desperate, remember I am the only florist that delivers to these small rural towns in the middle of no where, and this operator was trying to intimidate her into taking the order.
Maybe my shop will be blackballed in their book now, I don't know. What do you think that was all about? Is teleflora using strong armed tactics now?
I have always filled for them if I could, but I won't take an order for something I don't have, for a price that is totally unreasonable.
