Teleflora $10 Coupons

TF selling flowers on HSN is just one more way to undercut flowershops...

Pretty much the same way as a order pirate.

I didn't need to see it to know I wouldn't like it.

I don't watch HSN...did they promote "their specials"...those overpriced containers?
When we did the coupons, any shop could accept them and get $ back for accepting them. Then they went the way of "participating co-op" and duped a great bunch of florists who gave the discounts and got nothing back but a letter. If they notified anyone, they should have done it in a letter sent to every individual shop not cloak it in a dove message or buried in a newsletter - we all know most FWOAC don't read those.
I'd be darned if I'd honor a $10.00 off coupon and then send out of town...that's giving TF almost 40% back ... not gonna happen.
First it was rebates, now it's coupons....be very afraid TF shops....

No they had a show , showing them being made and sold, So I ordered three of them and they came from real shops, not TF headquaters, and they offered them at the price points, and then the shipping was 9.99 and I checked my cc statement it was just what I was qouted, in there show, and all 3 orders where all over,,,so its was what it was,,

Teleflora upped the coupon to $10.00 to force florists to buy into their coop advertising and buy their containers.

They wanted florists to feel the pinch of having their customer come in with a $10.00 coupon and then not honor it and face losing a customer. And from reading the above posts their plan is working.

Florists can turn things around. Contact your rep or write letters to headqtrs and let them know that you will noy buy any Teleflora services, like directory advertising, pay to support local units, buy any everyday conatiners, cancel directory ads and remove Teleflora technology from any consideration because they are refusing to honor the coupons.

Why should florists have to make the tough choice of either giving up $10.00 of a sale price or face losing a customer. Let them have to make the choice of losing florists business in order to force florists to buy into their coupons.

Teleflora has done everything to damage their "partnership" with us, and these coupons are the last straw for me. They did not consult with us before offering this discount.I will no longer be carrying any Teleflora product as a result and I will be explaining to people presenting the coupons that I do not carry the item they are seeking a discount for, but I will offer them $3 off of their order if they place it with us.

I asked for the supervisor's mailing address when I clarified the reimbursement info yesterday. I have it at home in yesterday's pants, which are in a crumpled heap on the floor ;) I'll post it after the madness.

Hello everyone,

I recieved a message from the teleflora head personnel and it stated that they would reimburse us for the coupons 100% ---- I left this on my answering machine so I have proof! Will let you know what they say when I call on Monday.

This is scary - bloomz agrees with da Fox. Call Fox News!!!

Too bad they won't care - in Linda Resnicks book she talked about raising fees from $12 a month and she asked how many people complained on the last increase and they told her "about 50".

She said 50 out of 20,000? Raise them.

They also know that about 90% of those coupons don't get redeemed they make it such a pain in the ass to fill out those reports most of us (me included) just say skru it.

I sell ribbons and ribbon printers, but also run a flower shop and have for two decades. I used to think that such a discount would be nuts. In the past, I would have not accepted the coupon. But recently, I have realized that it is worse to send a customer to my competitor. If they are in the door and I am anywhere close to breaking even on the proposition, then I take it.

In this example, my revenue would only be $19.99, but those low-priced TF arrangements usually include very few flowers and can be designed quickly. I break out my cost like this:

TF container $6.99
Fresh COGS $5.00
Labor $5.00
-------------------
Total Costs $16.99

Is the order worth a $3 margin? No . . . but I'm not losing money on it, and I have kept a customer from going to my competition.
