Carrieanne- I think you just got a hold of a couple of jackasses.

We buy NOTHING from TF. except I did but the harvest bowl container (for thanksgiving) and the kincade. and I only got 12 of the harvest bowls too.

When the reps call trying to get me to buy their crap I flat out say "We are a high end shop and we don't carry novelty containers of any kind, or carns, or bb, or leather leaf."

When I say that- they shut up.

Eric, she had every intention of coming in to me...It is the kinkade she is after for her mom's table and because I was so good to deal with last year, she beelined her way here this year...She had no hopes of using the coupon, but figured she would ask and was surprised when I said I would take it...She metioned that she has had quality issues in the past with the kincade's everything from the arrangement not being made of what it was supposed to, to drivers leaving the arrangement and it freezing and flowers dieing...She said I was the only one over the years that never gave them a problem, knew what hand was washing the other and was willing to fix my quality issues..I have now won her as a customer because I gave a crap about an order that wasn't mine directly, where other shops have treated the complaint as such(someone elses's discounted order)...This is one of the best ways to make yourself out to be a bad shop in anyone's eyes...I can understand the mentality and the reason for this, but my thought is if you cannot fill the order and treat the order like it is your own for what ever reason, don't take the order period...

I don't take many orders that come over my way for many reason's...mostly they are reasons that will make my shop look bad...a badly spelled order tells me an idiot took it, I reject those, I don't want to deal with what said idiot may or may not have told their customer...orders that are at minimum and have no delivery tells me that they have no sales sense and I really don't want responsibility for their order...Og's have so many reasons for not filling, so I reject before even finding out their story...There are even real florists that I won't fill for..I had a shop in everett, ma send me a TF order for a dish garden going to everett, ma at Valentine's day...They must not have had any and decided not to let go of the order for the 20% commission, rejected, to hell with that crap..you can't help them locally, send them to someone who can...jerks...

Shannon, it is funny that you say you are having other florist call and ask you for a codified product. We have the opposite problem.... tele hq does that about 5 times a day with us. It is THEIR system, learn how to use it!

And what really bites me is you say the only Christmas container you bought was 12 kinkades? Tele wouldn't let us do that! We tried to order only 12 of the kinkades and nothing else, they told us we would have to take 48, no thanks. A few days later my mom called and tried again, thinking a different person would get a different result. She was told they were SOLD OUT of the kinkades. We knew it was bull and tried to argue but still didn't get them.

We don't usually order ANY holiday containers but we always have the kinkades, our customers love them. I think this has something to do with why they wouldn't sell them to us, they don't like the fact that we don't buy their crap

Two things come to mind.

First they want you think about buying more and in their own way when they call enough about a product it puts the idea in your mind that consumers are looking for it.

Second Teleflora also knows that shops sometimes don't make the codified deadline and that s why they maybe calling around.

Shannon, a quick question, has the shop you are working in not bought coded containers since you started? Or has that been the way it was before you started there? I only ask because when my parents bought this shop 5 years ago the previous owner bought TONS of the codifies (we still have many of them) and at first my mom would buy some of it until I convinced and proved to her that she was not making any money on them and we could do better with more of our own specials. So she dropped down in her ordering and eventually stopped all except the kinkades.

It seems like the less we order from them the more they are NOT willing to sell to us when we want them. Like I said she was told 48 or nothing, when in years past this was not the case.

Eric, that could very well be the case. It just aggravates me when holiday after holiday we are bombarded with calls from HQ about products we did not purchase. When we answer them NO on the same arrangement 12 times you would think they would make a note of it and stop tying up our phones!
And the worst thing is they take FOREVER to get to what they want, I usually just ask them right off, what is the product, and even after I tell them we do not have it they still go on and on about the order. (I said we don't have it, I am way to busy, get off the phone!)

Nope.

She did used to buy Bloomnet stuff, but we are not bloomnet anymore.

We buy nothing from them- no cubes, no nada.
again- I chalk it up to jackasses.
When did you try to do this order? Oh and BTW- I wait until they call me. They always call.

I can't believe how many people are coming in trying to redeem that TF coupon. One of my friends closed her shop last month and de-hoarded a bunch of containers on me so now I am honoring the Teleflora coupon for local delivery. I can't believe how many people want those Kinkade house things. I have several styles. Glad for the coupon because I didn't know what to charge for those arrangements. I was thinking like 39.95 until I saw the coupon.

I believe in order for you to cash in those coupons, you have to be codified for the containers... hope you're codified...

I'm not even a member so I certainly can't be codified. I don't want to cash in the coupons. I'm just totally willing to sell those arrangements for the discounted price of $59.95. I can't believe people will pay that for them but whatever they want.
