Does anyone have the Teleflora POS and how do you feel about it?

I have TF POS and it depends on what you want to know to know how to answer this question. As a POS system it does all the basic functions and makes my life easier, but having had daisy Ifeel it was sold to me incomplete...

We have the DovePOS from Teleflora. As Lori states, the system is incomplete I completely agree. I would recommend that you look around and demo and test drive the various systems before choosing one, especially a wire service system.

How is it incomplete? We have the mercury system and it does us no good

Have you looked at FTD Mercury X ??? No, don't have it, but have seen Dove POS and it IS lacking in MANY features that are present in Merc X.

I have also heard FTD is cutting deals on Merc. X. I would REALLY have a look...

What "kind" of Mercury do you have now???

- Herb

Mindy, that is interesting. We have Mercury 8 and we're very happy with it. What is it you're looking for that Mercury 8 isn't giving you?

Checked it out when I was ready to switch from Advantage...based on a crash after 10 years and the TF rep brought all his bells and whistles to show us and it ( Dove POS) had less feature that my ten year old system. Went to Merc and have loved every minute of it...Dove is like going backwards IMHO

We have TF POS - it is good for basic stuff, but what they dont tell you is all the modules (1000.00 each) you have to buy if you want to upgrade. Such as the delivery module, the marketing module, etc....etc.

I felt incredibly ripped off, because they made me believe all this was included in my purchase price.

Wish I could get rid of it...and dump TF too while I'm at it !!

I did, too. I have since made peace with my decision and moved on and am making the best of it...Nice how they never mentioned that the modules were going to cost an arm and a leg more....I thought that was so nice.

To be honest they do not want to teach us anything!! We purchased the buisness in January and did not know we had to still pay 550.00 a month on it. They want us to pay 2000.00 for them to have someone come out for a few days and show us how to use it, but too we do not even get that many FTD orders a month and on top off that they were charging us 700+ dollars a month on advertisting. I cut that off real quick but be still end up owing them 1000. a mo nth after everything there is something wrong there dont you think

There is alot wrong with your whole situation....you are way over your head. You guys bought a business with no idea what your were buying. Did your grandmother have anything in the contract saying that the owner needed to stay on to train? There is so much that goes into buying a business, it sounds as if you guys just bought the business for what they were asking without asking many questions. I hope your grandma did not spend her life savings on this place...

She did do investagating with the business, but as for knowing all the cost of everything with previous owners statments for the year she owned it they were wrong. Yet we can handle that the thing we cant handle it this FTD bill that comes every month I tell her she should be making money not oweing them at the end of the month. That's why Im here asking questions and gaining knowledge through all you experienced florist

Mindy, if you're sending more every month than you're receiving, you will owe them. If you're still paying for your POS every month, with just your dues and monthly recurring fees, you'll owe them.

It isn't going to be any different with a Teleflora's system. You'll be paying for a new system and you'll still have to finish paying for Mercury with FTD.

And that's a good thing - even tho it eludes many new florists.

I had a Demo of the Dove system and I totally found it incomplete with each "show me the ___ module" questions and the answer was over and over "it's coming soon"

They're famous for "Coming Soon" announcements.
Others in the software industry just call that vaporware.

I know this from experience - I had one of their systems for a few years - in frustration I moved on to the bleeding edge industry software leader.

Just look hard before you go down that road - it's a big investment to not be happy and end up with a ring in your nose.

OK I'm done raving for the nite - nite all.

Actually, sometimes if you owe FTD money you are actually making money depending on how much Wire outs you do. If the money owed is all computer system, ads and fees then you are not making money.

Do you have an FTD website??
