They count on FWOAC, so sorry but, you must look elsewhere, you have no power here!

I feel like such a DUNCE! What is FWOAC? Is there a place on FC to go for acronym meanings?

Also, when does this coupon thing come up for the customer? We have a website with TF I but don't know if this is happening on ours or not.

Dorothy... Florist Without a Clue. :)

Carrieann... spot on advice. Get rid of the stupid coupon.

Thanks Carrieann that's just what I did.

However - I just wasn't going to let go without them giving me some information.

I also wanted them to feel the wrath of my customers (through me) because believe me these customers put me through h*ll. I don't think they (my customers) were wrong it's just that some of them were "I WILL CLOSE DOWN YOUR SHOP!!" types over $5.00

I believe if I had to go through all the mess and my shop suffered the 'black eye' in the customers mind then TF was going to go through it with me.

I also happen to hate having to take the coupon option away from my on-line customers. However I can not control how TF processes the cc and that is what sent my customers over the edge.

Thanks to everyone who listened!

When my sister closed her shop and sold me her POS, her TF # was inadvertently left in the system. When I realized that her old, now defunct, TF # was appearing on the list of incoming orders that I was faxing to TF (can't remember why I was not reporting via Dove), I began calling trying to get the issue resolved with TF for the 2 months that had been reported. I was told that my reports had been credited to her account.

After calling Sis, and learning that her account was closed and paid in full before she closed, I began that round of calling and calling, faxing and faxing, everyone from my sales rep to TF customer service to supervisors.

In the end, I lost $2000.00 because TF would never honor my claims. BTW, my shop's name address, etc. were on every report, but all that interested TF was the shop code. No, all that interested TF was that they had a naive FWOAC who believed that they were on my side.

I cried too. I ranted. I used my "school marm" voice. I yelled so loud that my employees came running to me. I spent hours, days on the phone being reassured that they would get it all cleared up for me. They "lost" faxes. They had no record of calls. With every new person with whom I dealt, the process of calling back, explaining again and again the problem, and faxing reports and proofs of orders started all over again. It was just a run around that went on for month after month because I was being assured that it would be cleared up on my next statement.:iamwith::iamwith::iamwith:

I still feel like an idiot when I think about it.

DeeDee, I surely wish you well with your situation with the coupons. It seems to be an evil ploy on TF's part. IMHO, not so humble anymore.

I would sue them in no time.

The lawyer with whom I spoke told me that they had the big guns and plenty of money. I didn't have the funds for a long fight. He said something to the effect that they would bury me.

Also, I knew of a florist in a nearby town who had just lost his suit with TF, which cost him close to $8000.00, if I remember correctly, in fines, fees, court costs, etc.

True. On the other hand, you would be filing a small claim. In most small courts, attorneys and their legal maneuvers are not allowed.

First thing first.

You need to find out about jurisdiction, ie., which state you file your lawsuit. In general, you file a suit in the state/county where the defendent resides. In your case, California.

However, if you are suing a corporation, you might be able to sue them in your county. That's so much better for obvious reasons. The rationale behind this is to protect consumers. You claim that since your "injury" occurs in your county, that's where the dispute should be resolved.

You can contact your county court to find out about jurisdiction. I wouldn't rely on lawyers; many of them don't know much about laws and, worse, don't tell you they don't know.

If you have to file a suit in California (Los Angeles), you need to find out whether you could possibly include your travel expense as a part of your suit. You can call the CA court and they will tell you.

Finally, if you decide to file a small claim, notify TF in writing that you will be filing a lawsuit. In some jurisdiction (such as NY), it's a requirement.

Anyway, courts are the place to go. They don't give you a legal advice, but they will answer your procedural questions. Most of them are quite nice.

A TF lawyer said they would bury you????!! Well then bring out the shovel you sons of beaches cuz if you want to go after a little florist in court for $2000 you can spend the money to take them not the other way around. TF sucks. Sorry ya'll its a bit slow today and I can't resist. I still have a wee bit of animosity towards TF and I have not even been a member for over two years.

No, not a TF lawyer, my lawyer told me that.

Dorothy, the coupon box comes up while the customer is placing their order.
Place an order on your website to see if it is there. Just don't process your cc!

Fact Check on Teleflora

Dee Dee,
I feel bad that you are frustrated. I understand.

I don't necessarily encourage anyone to boycott, but if you ARE going to list companies, they should be correct. Neither Starkist nor Dasani water have anything to do with Roll International, the holding company that also owns Teleflora. By mentioning these two innocent companies, you may have people boycotting them by mistake, which is grossly unfair.

It's also unfair to boycott their other companies when you are staying connected to TF and sending them lots of money every week. The boycott should start with dropping your TF connections. If you can't or won't do that, what good is it to boycott POM, Fiji or Sunkist Pistachios?

Lynda & Stewart Resnick like to refer to themselves as the largest farmers in the world. With annual sales of close to $2billion, Roll Intl, privately held by the Resnicks, owns POM Wonderful, Fiji water (the second largest imported bottled water brand in the US), Paramount Farms (the world's largest farming operation of tree crops in the world) growing and processing citrus, almonds and pistachios.

The also own Franklin Mint collectibles and Suterra, the largest biorational pest control company in the United States.

Forbes lists them as #246 of largest privately held companies.

Their nuts and citrus are sold under many brand names, and unless you stop buying all almonds, pistachios and California citrus, you will likely still be sending money their way. Sunkist Almonds, Sunkist Pistachios and some Sunkist oranges and lemons are from Roll Intl. But if you buy Costco pistachios, they will be from Roll. Almost any brand will be their nuts.

The Resnicks are generous philanthropists and I think decent people at their core. They are concerned about the environment and all of their companies take time to be sustainable.

You're in a frustrating business situation with TF, but calling for a boycott over a few dollars in coupons seems overly-reactive.

Still, if you ask for boycotts, do your research first. Sunkist and Starkist are not related. Dasani water is owned by Coca-Cola. Play fair to the companies that are not connected to Roll International.

Perhaps I should have stuck this under rant I just don't know.

I have been fighting (think pitbull on steroids) with TF since a couple of days B4 TG over the way they handle their coupons. They insist I am the only complaint they have gotten.

And today I got so mad I just burst into tears! I have been a little under the weather so aybe that added to it ...BUT they made me cry!!!

I am so mad and I can't drop them so here is what I am going to do. Anyone that wants to join me I would just love you for it.

The owner of TF also ownes 40% of Starkist, Dasani water, and POM Pomegranate juice.

So I am boycotting these products all of which I used to buy blindly not knowing - NO MORE!!!

Thank you all for letting me go off

Not to add salt to your wound but it's Figi Water and Sunkist. I just didn't want you to boycott the wrong products. It is frustrating but I hope your holidays are going OK otherwise.

Mia Culpa

Hi!

I would like to thank everyone that listened to me and understood my sheer frustration. Crying is not something I relish doing. Many of you were more than kind. Again I say thank you for being there.

I must post this retraction as some people were nice enough to let me know I was wrong in posting the names of companies, I alone wanted to boycott. I was told I was wrong with the names I listed, I can only say this in my defence, someone I trust with my life gave me those names and I believed them.

Acting when you are a crying mess may not be a good idea, however I am only human. I would especially like to thank those that PM'd me or were kind in their responses so I would not suffer further embarrassment or hurt.

I meant no harm to others (like employees of GIANT companies) I was rasied better than that. I just lost my way in a moment of weekness.

I am truly sorry!!!

I hope you all are having a great, prosperous holiday season!!!!!
