handbag huh..... do they think Conforti is ahead of the times??lol
We did mossed handbags this mothers day, they went out the door.
I didn't bother with the survey as I'll be done with them.

Nope- didn't see 'em...

But I wish the focus was more on design rather than container on any holiday.

Did anyone take that survey for the Kate Spade containers? Some of them were really really awful......
Does not matter... the sheep (florists) will buy them no matter how bad they are....

Els Tuenissen brought up a good comment at St. Louis symposium about that.

Ninety percent of the special containers by any WS can fit into a 12 x 12 square or smaller........and even with flowers, sit no higher than about 16 inches or so.

With the WS, the container is Number 1 focus and the flowers are number 2. Her comment was "If we are to call ourselves FLORISTS.....sellers and lovers of FLOWERS, The flowers should be number 1 and the container number 2. the container should never oversahadow the flowers. "

The container is more important because they make money off it, good money. Why would they do a purse? I still have glass vase purses I can't sell. Guess I didn't see a thing for a survey, was this recent?

I had a mother's day survey but there was no handbag (actually I think I took one a while back with one in it)... The one today was a bunch of UGLY vases... Didn't by product the last two years except for Christmas and doesn't look any better for this year... Too pricey and small, not to mention the designs are misrepresented and most of the time impossible to do... who really wants a one sided vase arrangment?

Rick,

I have been saying that very thing for the last 10 years...The containers are being showcased.....how silly!!!

Shouldn't it be all about the flowers....I think that is why the 800-flowers arrangements sell better, the container is second to the flowers, therefore more value in the flower lovers mind.....I think that is also why most of us sell our regular 40.00 or 50.00 vase a whole lot easier than the keepsake...I believe the public is tired of the "keepsakes" that clutter up their houses with no purpose other than oh my son must have spent a few dollars on this...people are far more willing to recycle a plain glass vase or colored glass vase than these keepsakes that they feel are worthless but need to keep because they think someone wanted them to...

I didn't buy containers this last year and won't be buying anything but the kinkades for next year...

oh this is rich! I got that survey this morning and when I clicked to participate - there were NO PICTURES of anything, just descriptions. What I envisioned were not items I would have purchased and that is what I told them.

Sorry I didn't get to see the pics but I bet they weren't much better than what was envisioned in my head :)

as a mom I don't want or need any more chatkes

I agree with this statement 100%!! They are price gouging.... We bought the cubes once but I have since found them locally for at least a 50% discount and I can pick them up to save shipping.

Once Teleflora tried to charge us $35.00 for one case of cubes, despite the fact we had ordered other stuff also. They said it was because the cubes came from a different place.

We found a different source.

It's all about the flowers, butttttt........

I still thank Teleflora for a couple names

Wysocki and Kincade

They just have that ca-ching sound to them

but hey, this is as good of opportunity as any to bash wire services

I think they all suck

and they flat rape us on shipping charges. I've heard bloomnet charges $6-8 per case.

Even the Wysocki and Kinkades......are extremely small in size for the price they command............and which is more important JB in the completed composition? The container or the flowers.

Pretty much the majority of our customers, they just don't want a novelty container.

oh and i don't mind the kincade cottages, we sell the heck out of 'em!
