Even the Wysocki and Kinkades......are extremely small in size for the price they command............and which is more important JB in the completed composition? The container or the flowers.

Oh that's an easy answer...

The money you make from selling them! :>

Am I really that out of touch with what customers want?

I know these WS containers sell otherwise they wouldn't produce them. In another survey we received they were asking opinions on a Wizard of Oz themed container. (Yellow brick road and all).

I realize their are some fanatics out there but is there really enough to develop this type of product for? Or are they just really playing the numbers game? (If i produce it, x% will buy it and y% will sell it and i get z profit from the containers & shipping.)

I know there is one local shop (small - mother & daughter) here that buys every container that they sell for every holiday. I also know that they wouldn't be surviving if they didn't have deep personal pockets.

I just don't get it...

Sorry JB - Once again, you did NOT answer the question as asked.

No points on that one.

OK I'll try once again Rickie - you seem to be missing it -

The Greens.

and no points for you for missing the real point

Ya know, it's funny... I have not bought a holiday branded conatiner in a couple years... and my sales continue to increase...

What's up with that?

Well for pete's sake don't get any - we'd hate to see them increase more.:poke:

Now I got one for Rickie - what's the important part of this composition the flowers, the container or the GREENS?

JB - I understand your comment. My only point is that the containers are usually small in size and hefty in price. The smiley mug - I bet that mug is not over 6 inches in height and not over 5 inches in width. If you follow an industry standard of 2.5/ 3 time markup on containers.....I am willing to bet that container retails for close to, if not over 15.00

The completed arrangement - I will say is not over 12 inches total height, container and flowers, and retails for 40 to 50 dollars.

I did not go to the TF website to check.....the guestimates are based solely on looking at the design your posted.

If it is the Greens as you say......Would that customer's needs and wants be better served by something larger and more impressive for the dollars spent?

Not at all if that's what they want to buy.....

and that's why I call it a Proven Best Seller

Critique it to death (hell even bloomz could make that) but ain't the proof of the pudding in the greens???

He posted the "Deluxe" Version and it's $59.95 on Teleflora.com (BTW, when did they make that an Ecom site like Da CoN?) and the have it one FlowerClub for the same price... both carry a $13.95 Service TAX...

Thanks Boss, That brings up another 'good point' - appearance pricing.

The design that JB posted - I said that going by the picture, it looked to be about 40 to 50.00 - Boss tells me that the design is priced at 59.95 - I guessed TOO LOW....If I was an employee, I just cost that shop 10.00.

Hence the need for proper markups, cost analysis, proper pricing, - clear example here of why 'looks like' pricing is a recipe for disaster.

---------------------------------------------

Now, On the measurements of the mug and arrangement - wonder how close I got to it being right?

I dunno but you got the greens wrong - looka lika people pay more green than you thought for it

TF must not get tired of the leftover containers because they are making money on what they sell. If you go to MyTeleflora, they are selling some of the leftovers dirt cheap, course WE have to pay for all that advertising they do to promote the darned things.

I did see the containers, none of them impressed me, who designs those things anyway? I don't need more purse containers, and I hate it when they stick things on the side of a container, like a 3d butterfly or porcelain roses that chip off when you look at them, even tho we sold almost all our butterflies for MDay.

Isn't that the point?

I don't care what they look like - only the greens.

I did that last year after Mothers Day,,, low and behold,,, one of them was an FTD Mothers day special this year!!!????
