According to Forbes. Nothing personal Rosie, but I think you should study up on your Royal family, and how they are tied together, and where wealth comes from, and from how many generations, and legal precedents in law. All I can say is, I'd hate to be in the shoes of the Resnicks if they the Royal family get's angry.

Not to brag, but at least once a year, I have the honor of meeting a member of the Royal family at different formal functions, so I have some understanding of how things work.

Boss,
Why should TF members be embarrassed? Just because the Resnicks own TF does not mean that this is a reflection on the TF membership at large.
If all of us were embarrassed by everything the corporate schmucks in this country do, we would all spend our time hanging our heads.

Have fun at the FTD convention.

Not worth commenting on, from a floral point of view.

Some people will go to any length to attack a rival wire service, even reaching so far as to pull this in.

I'm not saying either side is right in this, but I feel no shame as a TF member for what the Resnick's are doing - just as I feel no shame in my British roots for what the stupid gits running the charity are up to.

BTW, moving this to Chat - it doesn't belong under N & A.

I guess if Teleflora members should be embarassed by the actions of the Resnicks (which I am not) then Americans should be embarassed by the actions of George Bush (which I am).

Righty right? or is it Lefty Left?

After reading all your posts...

I think the Resnick's are no more guilty of public embarassment, than that of the Royal Family.
The fact that Diana's Charity Fund is being undermined is NOT the fault of the Resnick Family, though they MAY have been responsible for some poor judgement in the public overview, they CERTAINLY cannot be blamed for taking this challenge on, and truly believing that their reputation has been attacked!!
The Diana Fund was embroiled in poor decision making right from the start, and though I feel the Resnicks' used poor judgement in "attacking" this charity openly, The Diana Fund was in jeapardy even without The Resnicks'
Just mho....

Could there be yet another bigger picture we're missing out on here.

This link is kind of interesting....

The Diana, Princess of Wales Bouquet (US and Canada only)

This beautiful limited edition flower arrangement with purple vase, featuring white double lisianthus, white stock, Queen Anne's lace and limonium, is presented by FTD, Inc and available from FTD florists throughout North America.

For each exclusive FTD bouquet sold, the Fund will receive $5 to support our work.

Could the Resnicks be angry because FTD has the bouquet?

Makes me want to go out and buy 1 just on the principal of the thing.

IMHO, the bigger questions are "Could FTD look more tacky for offering a Princess Diana Bouquet?" & "How many US and Canada folks would really want to spend all that $ to give a $5 donation on an arrangement that looks to be less than $50.)"

This is old, old, old news - the bouquet has been available for 3, 4 or maybe 5 years - after all Diana has been dead for almost 6 years. There are quite possibly a few florists that have them STILL in stock and would be happy to send one for you...starting at $79.95 US plus a $9.95 sending fee.

I concur Rosiescenario...tacky tacky tacky...

Peter, I was wondering the same thing.
Rosie, I don't know, is it tacky? I bought the vase and still have a few in stock; it is made of a very nice quality glass (no pic of Diana on the vase) not at all cheap looking and the arrangement is very stunning. Do you mean it is tacky simply because FTD offered it or have you seen it and feel it is poorly made? I guess as it stands, we the florists who bought the vases and still have some stock made the donation until we sell them at full price. I don't think anyone anywhere would spend a $100. so as to donate $5.00 to any charity so I don't think that really comes into it. You see products tied to charities all the time and usually with a miniscule amount going to the charity but few people buy it unless instead of another brand.
Everyone would have their own idea of which items are tacky; IMHO, Diana on a margarine tub is tacky; the FTD vase isn't; I didn't see the figurine so have no opinion there, my point was simply that since they didn't have permission they shouldn't have "used" Diana's image until they obtained permission.

For me the premise is tacky...I would much prefer, if so inclined, to give the money (more than $5.00) directly to the charity. It should also be noted that I'm not remotely a Monarchist either...so perhaps that has coloured my opinion somewhat.

I agree Rock I think it goes a bit beyond the surface.

I didn't think it was tacky, and l had known about it before now also. $79.98 is a reasonable price, if I was sending a floral gift to someone personally, I wouldn't object to spending more than that, but again when I send a floral gift I like to make sure it speaks well of who am I (You can't have a owner of a WS sending something cheap to one of their personal friends etc) When I used to date, I would on average send 3-4 dozen long stem roses at a time to someone. Sure some of the items the fund approved wasn't suitable, but I believe they have learned from the mistakes, I think it would be a bit overwealming to lose your relative and have the World's attention focus'd on you and try to put together a Trust fund that quickly and have that kind of public outpouring.

IMHO - The FTD Diana arr. was tacky :)

Not a nice arrangement, etc, etc ...

Just my $0.0146 USD

I liked the vase itself, I think the arrangement sucked mossy rocks but I'm not a lisianthus fan. You would think they'd have come up with a classy arrangement to honor a classy Lady.

Audra

ROTFLMAO...MOSSY ROCKS!!!! (sucking on them no less)...I needed that Audra...thank you. :>

Don't forget, she was a classy lady that did lots to promote flowers but she did die in a drunk driving accident. Funny no one mentions that...

Yes, that's right. Her companion at the time was a useless human being, who had no sense of how to protect a very public woman, plus no one is mentioning the jackals in the media who chased the woman night and day. I guess he never heard of decoy cars, and body guards, and motorcades either.
