There is no way my kids will ever learn the stunts I pulled as a teen.

Joe

One of my fears is that I will become so senile that I will tell all those secrets!

Its "do as I say", "Not do as I did". Of course what we did is better left unsaid... or unknown. :) :beer

Joe, I am glad your kid is alright. They are lucky the truck didn't flip with the speed they were trying to take the turn at.

I would blame drivers ed teachers about excessive speeds on country roads. My drivers ed teacher told me that I can go as fast as I feel comfortable and road conditions permit.

I haven't done anything too stupid with my parents car yet ('97 Saturn). I mean, what are you supposed to do with a Saturn? My older brother set a high bar so anything that I do would be minor in my dinky little Saturn :p

My older brother has done underground street racing in which he has been handcuffed before and has spun out on a major highway (parents don't know about those incidents). Surprisingly, he has only been in a few wrecks, none that were his fault. Marriage is the only thing that slowed him down. The handful of speeding tickets might have helped too.

Of course, I was "much much way more mature" then at that age than they are now at their age.

Joe,

I used the opposite approach with my daughter. I told her absolutely all the stupid, nutty things I did as a teenager! I encouraged her to be "smarter" than her crazy hippie Mom!

Driving was another issue! She demolished 3 cars in 3 months time! She had her permit at 16 and license at 17. I think it's a proven fact that kids driving at this age are unfortunately, "an accident waiting to happen"!

Glad to hear the kids are safe and sound!

No, Dianne, I think I better keep my High School Skeletons locked away. ;)
