Today is the day

Lori you would probably understand Gregor more if you took his workshop but his enthusiasm (driving down the road and taking those turns) was the message. He referenced "everyday shop work" as compared to his stage show as being decisions for everyone) His demos are more thought provoking and showing the dynamics of contrast with his designs was to show how it should work in everyday design.... did that help??? LOL (he is a hoot one to one)

Gregor is a MASTER of texture. Every design of his I have seen always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS has the most intrigueing combinations of textures. He is a floral Rock Star.

Sorry to be so late wishing the applicants great success, but, I have had company for 2 weeks and missed a lot of posts. I have judged your work on FC, so, I feel that you will probably make it the first round.

As far as Gregor, several years ago, I kept seeing his work in magazines and just did not get it. In fact, I thought it was ugly....so, I decided to go to his school to find out why I didn't like the work.

After studying with him, I gradually began to understand what it was all about and I absolutely love it, now. However, most of the things I learned cannot be used in a regular flower shop setting because it is just not practical. But, I do some of his techniques when I have one of the few cutomers that let me do my thing or when I am presenting a show and when I make something for myself.

I think I always got Hitomi and continue to use many of her techniques because she kind of hits my style. I can incorporate more of her design into everyday work.
