Vacation!

Well......sadly enough I'm taking a week of vacation June 1st-7th to CLEAN MY HOUSE!

It's this stinkin' Flowerchat crack that I'm on....never get my house cleaned!

Actually, I'm not JUST cleaning, I'm doing some painting, switching bedrooms with one of our kids, organizing, yard work etc. I think I will enjoy the summer much more if I go into it with some projects done.

I am going to try and limit my Flowerchat time that week...we'll see how successful I am.

By the way.....right now I'm supposed to be cleaning out my fridge! :)

I'm saving my pennies for Ireland next May, but, I can't go without my Tobermory fix in the fall. I'm taking my usual week following Labour Day and going to Wireless Bay... where I commune with the world around me and myself. I need it... we all need it.

Heading to the Outer Banks in NC. The kids LOVE it and it has been our destination for the past 4 years. Nothing like sitting on the beach watching a 4th of July fireworks show out over the ocean.

I mentioned Toronto in another thread. Also taking a couple of long weekends here in Wisconsin. We would like to get to Hawaii sometime in the next year and a 1/2, I have never been.

With planning I think it's ok, no not just ok, necessary to take time off. Otherwise a person can burn out. I'm not saying everybody can go to faraway places; that's ok, be a tourist in your own state.

It recharges me and I get so many good creative ideas and feel ready to get back at it when we're home.

Well taking a vacation from being retired is a little different, kind of a change of scenery. Probably a week in the keys, then in September there is a weekend bike run to Key West. I'd love to go home (NJ mountains) this summer but if we buy a house soon that seems unlikely.
Otherwise it's:scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter:

Hilton Head SC, from June 27-July 5, can't wait! And then a couple weeks off to just relax and enjoy home, gardening, friends, and family. Hopefully a weekend camping.

Joan

P.S. May meet up with Rick, if anyone cares to join us for a florist night out let me know.
Don.t you just love SC. I live about 5 hours drive away.

What's a vacation ?

Trying desperately to figure out somewhere cheap, nice, and close to go with my cousin as one last girls trip before she settles down with Mr. Wonderful... Still haven't figured it out though.

I already mentioned this in another thread but, we're foregoing our usual 7 day cruise + 7 days on the beach in Miami for a week long trail ride on the horses in Tennessee this week...I think we've lost it but it should be a good time ;)

Speaking of which...we're leaving at 8:00 am so I best get to bed. No cell phone/internet for a week...what am I going to do without my FC fix!?!?!

Talk to you all when I get back!!!!

We are planning on Paris the first week of November. Going with my brother and sister in-law. They are there constantly and know it well plus the both speak French, me very little. Really looking forward to that.

We have a wedding, well Marcy does as she is the planner at Cape Cod in July. The family has reserved a house for us so we are making a weeks vacation out of it.

Actually, now that think of it, my sisters and some friends and I have talked about going to NYC in Sept or Oct. We did that trip once before (I have 4 sisters-the last trip was 3 of them and myself-this time I hope all 5 of us can go). It was the best time! We never laughed so hard!

I love NYC! Next time I'm going to check out some of the cool flower shops mentioned on FC.

V-I have always dreamed of going to Ireland-and I'm sure I will some day. It's way at the top of my list.

So many people I know do the Mexico, Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Costa Rica, etc. thing. I have never wanted to somewhere like that for vacation. Laying around on the beach is not that appealing to me (well, maybe for one day). I love old architecture, history, culture, and of course-flower shops!

Thom-Paris sounds wonderful-especially with seasoned guides. I was there shortly after college many years ago-but we mostly wandered around like idiots! I mostly remember loving the Claude Monet art we saw.

What would be everyone's dream vacation?
