From an article in the Detroit news, writen by John Sweeney, President of the AFL-CIO....

As Walmart attempts to expand into nearly 300 NEW locations in 2005, grabbing even more market share in places like Grand Blanc (MI), a growing chorus of activists, consumers and workers are realizing that Wal-Mart's supposedly low prices come at a hefty cost--and that we must demand higher standards for those that come into our communities.

The article also included references to Wal-Mart's pay scale, employee benifits (really non existant) and how even higher paid employees can not afford the companies heath plan plus much more.

New York City has denied Wal-Mart a license... according to the news I heard yesterday.
