V, sounds as if your baby is in good hands. Now you have to rest too. Your going to be running around taking care of your child, so take care, both of you.:thumbsup
Alana finally made it in to surgery at about 5:30... and not a moment too soon as she was having the beginnings of a major melt down. Sharing a room with old ladies and their mulitple replacements and their poop fetishes dam n near pushed her over the edge.
She came through it like a trooper (sort of) with nine screws and a metal plate attached to her leg. I'm thinking she'd be a great conduit for aliens now.
I've left her in Shawn's most capable arms and loving heart. I'm home after an extremely long day of trying to keep up the spirits of poopy old ladies and a broken and frustrated young one. Sadly I have no wine in the house. Tomorrow by golly...
I am most grateful to Dr. Lebel, Dr. Cook (the sleep doctor who can honestly take her act to Yuk Yuks) and all the staff at Fowler Clinic and University Hospital... so glad we live in Canada.
Thanks to everyone for your wishes. It was great to read them at intervals during the day.
Her sense of humour remains gloriously intact. She's recuperating up in the Muskoka's (she supposes there are worse places on earth to heal).
She advised me that she was going to send an autographed picture of herself to the Fowler (Flower for Mark) Clinic so they can add it to their wall of fame... some pretty famous sports figures have gone through those doors. She has no doubt that she belongs on the wall for at least having the most interesting break story.
I'm on vacation this week so I'm heading up to the cottages on Friday. I'm looking forward to seeing them.
I'm hounding Alana for pictures so I can post them here. There are some pretty incredible shots. Some of the white water rafting ones are on facebook.
Wonderful place to recoup, reload, and gather ones mind. Just hope she is on a lake where she can hear the Loons!!
That is healing in itself
Best of Luck for speedy recovery and hoping Alana is on her feet real soon
