What do you regularly offer for $25.00

I really try and not offer anything under $30 but if I have someone with only that amount of money to spend I would suggest either a basic Cut Bouquet of Chrysanthemums, carns, alstro and perhaps a couple of gerbs or a basic " Box" arrangement.

Box arrangements are a popluar choice here - Cardboard box, lined with Cello and I " fancy up" different papers, wraps etc depending on what is spent..

Other than the variety of vase options that have been mentioned already, I have some 5" terra cotta pots that we make up with a few liatris, a stem alstromeria, a few carns or daisies and some statice with a mushroom bird. The shape is more stylized than traditional TFTD triangle.

My biggest problem/concern in making things too cute at this price point is that people will not feel the need to spend more...if $25 is this cute, why spend $40?!?! It becomes more and more difficult to upsell someone who has received a cute $25 arr (like someone mentioned).

Although, at this point, a sale is a sale?!??!!

Exactly how I think.

Offered, but not promoted.

I am with the fact that a 16 year old would love some gerbs and maybe bear grass looking really Kool in a square, not the big fancy stuff. Maybe the giver needs to remember who is recieving the flowers and decide why she is so worried about it.:)

after re-reading the first post......seems to me the lady was not only out-of touch with what costs are these days, but also what appeals to the teenagers of today.

Perhaps it would be an idea to arrange some of the offerings on the websites by age category.....suitable for 12 to 16, 16 to 20, etc.

just an idea.

I should have mentioned this with my earlier posting, but I forgot to. One of the things that I look at......and think about ( I have more people disagree with me on this than agree btw ) is look value.

A 25 dollar design needs to look 25.00 - not 30 or 35.00

There needs to be a clear visible difference between a 25.00 design and a 30 or 35.00 design. Otherwise.....There is no incentive for them to want to spend more.

If I can get a 35.00 size arrangement for 25.00.....why should I spend 35.00

( most people disagree by saying that the less money spent needs to be as showy as possible, which in most peoples minds showy equates to size )

I Agree....

I think that if you sell a $25 arrangement then it should look like a $25 arrangement. If you are watching COGS and not stuffing then it will. $25 bok's don't have many roses, they are usually carns daisies and alstro. At our shop... they come in a smaller vase, They are nice---not breathtaking or amazing. And yes they can look good and they serve a purpose. Kinda like a bud vase with roses or carns. I don't think I've sold one of those in at least a year. Oh, I take that back-- we did 15 of them for someone to take to all the other teachers they work with about a month ago. but it was a year before that. And that was over $200 and a pick-up order. So I wasn't whining. Our phone presentation and menu breakdown is this.
A small vased arrangement is $25 -$35...
Our average is between $40 and $50
and Large Starts at $65.
This coordinates with vase sizes in the back room
Small is in a 6- 7" vase
Average is in an 8" and
Large starts in a 9-10" vase.
Custom designs start at $100, And these do not come in standard vases.
There are lots of other options like "Depends on how much trouble you in..."
and other Novelty sayings.
But back to the basics-- $25 should always look like $25. Unless you sant to be out of business soon.
Best wishes mrflowermarket

Since I have got my new website, I have been offering lots of specials for $25.00 to lead them in...

I have no problem selling $25.00 arrangments including a dozen short stem roses in a vase on special right now!

We pay 35c for asst box 40-50cm roses , so this is possible to do and still make a profit.

My goal is to grab the $35 or less customers who are being scared away from florist websites who charge $70 or more for dozen roses all year around including summer. Thats why proflowers and other drop shippers are doing well, because florists don't want $25-35 customers....

I still provide lots of high end arrangemnets for my customers too, however, I want every customer in these tough times, not just ones who spend $50 or more :)

Check out my prices in Our Specials section this week....I also sent out an email blast promoting these prices...we are selling out of the $25 dozen roses vase every week at this price!(normally $35.00)

we sell fresh cut mixed boug for $ 25.00, also would send square vase with alstro and gerb with some filler, plants starting at 27.00 of course would not send that to a 16 year old but an idea for other customers. its a pain in the butt some times when customers have such a low budget but i try to make everyone happy you never know next time they could come in to book a funeral or wedding with you!!!
