Sorry to butt in, joe... How did she do that? With gun or with charm?

l.ol

she tried hard to get me to marry ever since she picked me up at the Clayton Brokerage Co. Christmas party back in 1983.

Gold, she broke my resistance to matrimony.

joe

actually, after dating 6 plus years, 1983 - 1989 = 6 -- YEA that's right ( ;) )

we were ready - she more than me- but we both wanted to propogate little Mioux's so we decided to go in the correct order. Marriage, make little mioux's, and when those little mioux's get big enough throw them out of the house.

Di, high class? You are you trying to kid!?

:howdothey

;) *muah*

Heather,

The escort business is way more lucrative than being a florist...would sign YOU up in a minute! Why do you think I have a pager? What an insult that one of my BFF's doesn't consider me as ~high class!~

Navy, I think I love you...

...but I've got to know what "BFF" stands for...

I'm coming up with all sorts of naughty connotations:eek:

Lets see, I took Horticulture & Floriculture for last 2 years of High School in a vocational school. I worked in a greenhouse, nursery, garden center & flower shop during those 2 years as practice. decided the money wasn't good enough so I went in the Army as a Helicopter mechanic. I really wanted to be the pilot & my recruiter %$#$% me on that one. Got out & became a restaurant employee, then the manager. Worked for several fast food chains. Went to college, went back in the Army as a Personnel Administration officer, wanted to retire but Desert Shield /Storm happened & I was a single parent so I opted to get out since I was a Nucleur, Chemical, Biological warfare trained specialist, couldn't handle the thought of my son being alone if something happened to me because I would have went to war for sure. Went back to Restaurant Management as GM for Taco Bell, made a lot of money, got tired, started a few small companies, closed them, worked as a Equal Opportunity Specialist for the County, then worked as an HR Generalist for another county. Got brave & bought a flower shop because it was something I always wanted to do. For the record, this is the hardest business I have ever worked & managed, including all the restaurants with long hours. :)

Joined The Army During Desert Storm (It was over by the time I was out of Airborne school)
Worked on some archaeological excavations in the Blosa Chica Wetlands and Temecula area. Nothing like the smell of Sage burning in the mornings.
Worked at a Pool Hall and Arcade down in Costa Mesa and learned many things from Business to Pool. Lets just say I meet with the right people.
Repaired Video Games (you know pinball machines) and continued doing that for almost 10 years.
2003 decided to purchase Everyday Flowers and there you go.

Interesting thread Amy, funny when you think back, gypsy sums it up but always wanted to be a teacher so, student, student, uni for Fine Arts, on my way to be an Art/Geography teacher, but waitressed and bartended through Uni and 20's, and because bartending in the 80's was too lucrative to do something with my education I went with that for few years, back to being a student, floristry that time, funny thing I ended up teaching anyways, that same program, still a bit of gypsy..must have something to do with a past life.

Boy do I...

Wow do I ever feel under qualified after reading some of the amazing things you folks have done prior to becoming florists. What a wonderful cross section of talents and experiences represented here.
