I'm pretty much sick of all the recorded telemarketing messages we've been getting over the telephone:

-"Did you know that your factory warranty has expired..."
-"Did you know you are eligible for $250,000 credit..."
-"Did you know that blah, blah, blah..."

I've done the following:

-on the national do not call list
-waited until the end of the message to select the opt out option
-pressed option #1 to speak to a representative and then tell them to remove me from their call list

Does anybody else get these calls? Any suggestions to get rid of them? I'm finding that we are getting more and more of these calls everyday, at least 20 of them.

:wallhead:

I have been getting a lot of those lately. I also put my number on the do not call list, by my phone company said that business numbers could not be put on the do not call list. So, I guess that is why I keep getting calls. Lately I have been pushing the # sign over and over then hang up. It has stopped some of them. I heard it messes with the auto dial. Worth giving it a try.

It's been a HORROR!

Ever since the FEDS allowed residential telephone numbers to be put on the DO NOT CALL LIST, our shop phone has been bombarded with these TELEMARKETEER calls.

Here's a few of our worst offenders:

702-520-1162
877-892-4941
870-216-4090
866-270-4461
800-347-2568
770-351-8954
216-839-2146
732-982-3946

When I call back their numbers, I get a PHONEY TAPE saying that, the number is disconnected or I get a fax tone, possibly PHONEY TOO!, and a hang up.

What a waste of our VALUABLE TIME!

Us too, at the shop - that donotcall list doesn't seem to be working

I thought it was just me. We are covered up in these calls, at least six to ten a day. I have done all of the above, and nothing. If anything they have increased. Frustrating.

It's very frustrating. Often I or my staff will stop production to answer the phone only to get these stupid calls.

The factory warranty calls are some of the biggest offenders.

Today I have had two phone lines ringing all day....It really peeves me to put a real paying customer on hold just to pick up the other line and it is a waste of time recorded message trying to sell me a loan, a warranty, life insurance, health insurance, etc. etc.....it sux outloud....

LJVF, Yes, we get the same calls. I've done everything you have and still get the same calls. I've researched on the net and it's been happneing to a lot of people out there. I also get the call from Iowa that is a fax call. They call at 2, 3 or 4 am!!

Ha! That's funny because the other day I got another of those "capital for merchants" calls and just started hitting every button on the keypad. That was two weeks ago and haven't gotten another call from them yet.

Lol, then again, I may have authorized a charge for 5 million dollars to my phone bill. Eh, I guess we'll see :>

From what I understand, a business phone number can not be put on the do not call list. You can put it on there, but the regulations do not include business numbers. So they can keep calling. Sorry.

At least when a human calls I can pull the old Seinfeld prank where you say to the telemarketer:

"Why don't you give me your home phone number so I can call you back later at an inconvenient time."

It doesn't have quite the same effect with the recorded callers.

Thanks for mentioning this. I thought it was just us. I totally agree that the warranty ones are the worst!!! Plus, I hate the ones that just click when you pick them up and then hang up. I wonder if there is a way to file a class action complaint with the Federal Trade Commission using the numbers Toto listed? I am going to start keeping track of the worst ones and write their number down. This sound like a great job for my bookkeeper (she loves to @@@@@ at people). I know you web-savvy guys go to whois for domain info, is there somewhere to go for mass marketer's phone info?

Slightly off subject and just a little less annoying are the sales calls where you STRUGGLE to understand what the person is saying...I get the out sourcing thing, but geez!!!!

push the #2 key that is usually the number to get you removed from the robo call.

I did put my business numbers on the do not call list and it worked for a time. Just within the last couple of weeks have the robo calls started.

We also keep getting the "do you take credit cards?"and then the credit card processors start calling. We just tell them we locked into a 3 year contract. shuts them down.

funny tho the caller id numbers come us saying cel phone and a number. tricksters!

Ok it's been 2 hours since my original post and we've already received 8 of these calls.

What's puzzling to me is who are the ones falling for these calls? It's this sucker/idiot/gullible demographic that keeps these marketing tactics alive.

I was getting the expired vehicle warrently call endlessly. Used the opt out option many times, but they still called. Finally I talked to a human on the other end explained to them (not so nicely) that I had already used their opt out option more than once and if I received one more call from them, I would contact an attorney and sue them for harassment. I don't think I have gotten a call from them in a couple weeks now.

We get them at the shop too. Drives my mother CRAAAAZY !!
The one we get the most is a recorded call saying " LISTEN UP !"...
Mom slams the phone down. I've told her if she breaks my phone she's buying a new one. That drives ME crazy.:icon15

I actually had a live person tell me I was an A** last week...An A**? ME???

All I said was, "What are you calling about, you're wasting my time"...

It was some guy, that said he had some info and "a joke for me" then he would "let me off the phone"...needless to say he hung up on me...was it something I said...
