A friend has a golden doodle, she is tall like a standard poodle (one of my favorites) with the broad head and snout, long tail that curls up, lots of curly, curly blond hair - non allergenic, no shedding, and she has personality plus (but they go for $900 here right now)

Give me my Australian cattle herder any day. We have a blue heeler. very smart, very loyal. Sheds tho but ours was very easy to train. Likes to keep busy and loves to go deliver flowers in the van! he is quite the navigator.

Our is a taller one of the breed, most are shorter with shorter hair. That may cut down on the shedding issues.
