Why do florist not go direct more!

I only have a few shops that I send directly too because again most shops just don't get it.

That’s fine because what I have been noticing more and more that customers do want this service. Yes I'll say it again. They want this service. As our business has evolved I am noticing more customers wanting this service even though they know they can get more value by calling directly.

We still offer two ways for our customers. Giving them the choice to call direct versus us sending the order for them. And to be honest we have seen a huge increase of these sending orders.

Florist should work on sending more quality orders through the system. I am sure most of you can agree that if you received less total $35 orders compared to a more $50 + delivery fees that it can make it worth more wild.

Direct orders are still awesome and orders sent through the system can be just as good as long as we can concentrate on more quality then quantity.

Eric, I agree with you. My customers are offered two ways of sending
also. I explain both options to them, and yes, even though I charge
$12.95 for my service to send the order for them, more than half will want me to take care of it for them. They are getting "full value" of the flowers
whether I send them or they call themselves. The only difference is my fee.
The others are grateful and give me many thanks that I look up a florist
for them to call themselves and they save the $12.95. I don't care either way. They are my local customer, which is the bottom line.
I don't think our "service" should be given away, but, I don't think I need to make 20% on their order.

Love the idea of the florists website as a reference point of what to sell.
I use that alot.
Interesting though, for example, I will have a site pulled up, where
I can clearly see the delivery charge and the price of the design,
and when the florist finds out I am a florist, they quote me a higher
price!
WTH?
Even though, I don't ask for a discount, I pay full delivery and
tax...why do they want to rip off a fellow florist?

I do direct to florists - was burned by Bloomnet and found that working with other florists builds great relationships and my customer doesn't know the difference.
