I Charge 12.99 for us and canada WO and 20.00 for international...

USA/Canada $9.95
International $22.00

Never a complaint...

US & Canada $5 (rethinking this one)
International $20

US and Canada $6.95
International $19.95

on occasion some of my "service charge" goes to up a delivery charge coded wrong or not stated at all. So in addition to cost of design + delivery

Are these charges in addition to a delivery charge for the local florist?

Do you separate out the delivery fee from the relay fee for each customer or do you collect a single fee and then pass a portion on for delivery?

Mine is in addition to the delivery charges....The 12.99 is just the service charge to cover, the phone call, the time spent selling the order, the dove charges, the ws charges, the possible extra time spent for fixing any problems etc...The reason I charge this amount is because if they are unhappy with what they get on the other end I deal with it. I give them my garauntee regardless of what the filling florist will or will not cover...The price of my wo service fee makes up for some of the endless games that must be played in order to get things corrected in the event something goes awry...I do not feel bad about the charges especially when I buy things online like tickets and to print them out myself with my paper and ink it costs me a 3 dollar convenience charge and an extra 2 bucks for using the internet....This is a service that costs us money to provide and I charge to provide it otherwise they can take their chances with sorting through the millions of florists online and get what ever lack of service they are selling...Good luck to them getting their problem fixed when dealing with some of them..

I then add on whatever delivery charge is stated in the ws directory directly to the flower arr price, so if the customer picks out a TFweb such and such at 45.00 and the filling florist lists a 10.00 delivery they will get 55.00 for their portion and my customer will pay 55 plus 12.99 plus sales tax....They are told what the charges are in full before any discussion takes place just so they are aware of the costs involved for sending through me...

I couldn't find a thread on this.

Are our charges too high, too low, A-OK?

In Canada and the US: $5
International: $18

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sure it will be useful for others as well.

Many, (most) of the Order Gatherers (OGs) and ALL the Deceptive Order Gatherers (DOGS) play a little game.

They take the Wire Service's codified price (usually) and add $7 to $10 for delivery. They PUBLISH that price without stating that it includes delivery. Then they add on a "Handling or Delivery" charge (their wording will vary) of about $12 to $15.

Consumers are so used to seeing a "shipping and handling" charge that most ASSUME that's what the $15 goes to. But the OG KEEPS that amount as a commision IN ADDITION to the 20% Wire Sending Commission.

I hope this helps!

Bill

The delivery charge is in addition to the flower order. The wire service fee is for our time/cost in sending the order.

despicable!!!

despicable!!!

I'm not really sure why this is dispicable. It is the same thing we all do...

We all charge for the flowers add on the local delivery(if we are smart and caring about the sending florist) and keep the 20% and the service charge that we charge....Some florists tell the consumer exactly what they are paying and some don't bother because the consumer doesn't get it anyway most of the time...

The benefit for the OG's is that they can add in the delivery to the website because they don't delivery any of their own flowers...We can't because all the charges are different for different areas...

The dispicable things that OG's do is charge for timed delivery 6.99 and keep that for themselves unless asked for an increase, keep the delivery charge that is added to the flowers ontop of the service charge and 20%, Charge for a hand written note and keep that money, other than that they run business the same way we all do when it comes to wire outs...just that they don't tell their consumers what they are paying for and let the consumer assume that the flower charge all goes to flowers and the service charge is the delivery charge...but I bet if you called real florists you would find that many of them will be secretive about what they are charging and how the WO's work, I have worked in 10 shops over my life and most of them will not explain charges on wo's because they either don't feel it is on the up and up or they don't think the consumer will understand or they can't explain it themselves...
