CONGRATULATIONS CONGRATULATIONS CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Heather,

I was tied up all day today and missed this post until now.

I just returned from an STL floral network meeting (my first attendance all year), skipped a HS school board of education meeting (first one I missed all year), sat back with an adult beverage and read this post.

Congratulations! I am very very happy for you.

How will this affect your flower shop schedule?

joe

Thank you ALL so much for all of your sweetness :) Okay, first of all...I've had a couple celebration drinks so....ignore my typos *cough* Diane *cough* ;)

It won't effect the flower shop schedule at all. The woman who held the job worked 3 days a week and made her own hours so when I go into office I have to schedule my own too. (What are they going to do, fire me :>?)

Holly, there is never a big turn out for in-town voters. The population is around 900 but when there aren't any issues on the ballot then there aren't many voters either. I about died when I saw that I got only sixty something votes...it's a riot!

I don't go into office until we get back from our cruise in March so, I've got awhile before I actually have to do the work...unless of course the woman who holds the office resigns and that is what many in the town expect.

I'm very excited :)

Woo Hoo! Yay YOU!
Congrats, and good luck with your new position!

yay, Heather!!!!:headbang:

Heather, congratulations on two levels... the first, for putting yourself out there to be involved in the system. It is rewarding, frustrating, lesson-filled, humourous, maddening.

Second, you won! :) Very cool. Move forward and enjoy all of the above.

Hooray for you Heather! We are all proud of you and know that you will be perfect for the job! :headbang::bow_flowe:bow_flowe:bow_flowe

Heather.....

first of all, congratulations on your win, and there's a reason why you DID win...obviously, those that DID take the time to vote, were ready to change things around a bit!!
The MOST important piece of advice I can give you IS, MAKE SURE you "separate" your politics, from your business, and under NO CIRCUMSTANCE, do you mention your business, in the same breath, as your public position!!
When someone, ANYONE, asks, state, "I'm new to the political arena, have much to learn, am more than willing to learn, and have much gratitude for the re-assurances from the voters, that my decision to run, was the right one!!"
People that voted for you, KNOW who you are!!

Congratulations !!! It takes a lot of nerve to run for any elected position. I'm sure you will do a wonderful job.

Thank you all so much for the congrats. That's why I love this place...you all feel like my family!

Mike, you did give great advice and I would never, ever mix business and politics....ever.

The great thing about my position is that it isn't like council. I just take minutes at the council meetings much like a secretary would. It is an elected position but, it's not a really "political" job if that makes sense.

Thank you all once again, you are amazing!!!

CONGRATSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!:bouncy::musical::hug::headbang::bow_flowe:bouquet2::wave::yourock: We're all so proud of you!!!!

Congratulations!

They always say that successful people are the busiest.. and that's why they are so successful -- you are definitely heading in this direction! Congratulations!
