I've heard about them, but don't remember seeing them. I may be a few years younger than you, but I bet I barely missed them. When were they around?

They started in the mid to late '20s...At their height of popularity in the '50s, there were 7,000 Burma-Shave signs all across the USA. The familiar Red signs with white writing... (grouped by four, fives and sixes) You'd read one, then watch for two and three and sometimes four. The punch line was on number five and the Burma-Shave on the sixth...

I was around from 1955 on (shhhhh), but don't recall seeing them with my own eyes.. just on TV or something.
