Right, substitute any container with anything.
That is just a complaint waiting to happen for which Flowerclub will blame the filling florist and you will end up having to replace thereby loosing money. Thanks Teleflora! Good on you for rejecting this garbage!

Rhonda's post makes me think...Are all of you who are down in wire-ins, down naturally or because of rejects and can't fill for that amount???

Not me...have rejected a few, but always do... they are simply trending down 34% as of today for me...while my web and phone orders are up.

Have added over 120 customers to my database so far since the first of December...

Lori, that is the first one we've said no to, just because we couldn't understand a word he was saying and his spelling was even worse (or his pronunciation along with the long delay in between due to the phone line from wherever he was).
As of right now, there are just no orders coming in..... and even our direct callers are slow too. This could change in the next couple of days as people realize what the date actually is. I caught myself thinking today that Christmas is still "next week" not even thinking it being on Tuesday....just "next week"...... while I was preparing to mail packages to Florida.

I don't consider the + or - 5 (or evens) to be statistically significant. Eliminating those numbers, it looks like 80% are experiencing significant declines in incomings.

Wonder if the pattern is still holding from last week. It is here as far as units goes, but we're up in dollars since the average incoming is running $110.

Both the FedEx and UPS guys say they aren't seeing many boxes of flowers. One said he's been delivering 'mostly candy'.

I am slightly down wirein wise where I was slightly up and have not had to reject anything yet. I have also noticed that my average order is up from 55 to 75 dollars from last year. My corporates have all my business so up that if I do not get one more order from now til xmas I will still be up 15%. Now that I call a successful holiday....

Nothing exciting here to report.

4% Down Outgoing
57% Down incoming

Or the real numbers
2006 61 incoming
2007 26 incoming

2006 342 Outgoing
2007 325 Outgoing

I don't think those numbers tell any kind of story.

But this one 12% up for the year in sales. Unfortunatly it is the worse year of growth that we have seen in five years.

So AGAIN.....

we "buck" the trend in wire activity......
Incoming was up 27% = 4106. CDN increase
Outgoing was up 7% = 1244. CDN increase

Outgoing would have been further "enhanced" had we NOT sent about 15 customers with direct shop phone numbers, because it was past our self implied cut off date/time for order guarantees.
We had a "close out sale" for OG's....orders were ALL caught & processed in the shredder.
