BOSS's Quote of the day!!

I think I will spend some quality time writing reviews for the OG's listed in my area. I'll have friends and family submit reviews too! Fun, fun, fun!!!
YaBa DaBa Doooooo!

Just make sure each is unique, and mention deception, order gatherers and so one to increase SERP's.

Back to CHR's questions. I would be happy to take a picture of the location 2424 Nicollet as I am interested myself in what is there! I have to do it Sunday. I will figure out how to post the pic or email it to you to post.
It should be interesting to see the magic invisable flower shop called moonlightfloralnursury. 2424 Nicollet is not even 1 mile away from my shop.

One more "mystery" about Moonlightfloralnursury at 2424 Nicollet. When you call the local 612-486-4288 you get the exact same male voice recording that you get when you call Teleflora customer service.

Then you are switched to a phone bank person somewhere who takes your order. Is it legal? It seems Teleflora owns moonlightfloralnursury and advertises it at 2424 Nicollet in Minneapolis.

So Ms. Dianne... hope you enjoy the review I wrote regarding the wonderful service received at Richardson's Flowers. Why should you and your local friends have all the fun!? ;)

Just today, Yahoo! Local announced that users will be able to help clean up the bad info. Just follow the link labeled 'edit this listing' and correct the info - like changing the address of Flowers With Gifted Elegance to Randolph NJ. :>

I believe another user will need to come along and validate the info but hey, at least Yahoo's headed in the right direction.

Of course, you'll need to be on the lookout that some dOG doesn't change your own info.

Hey Mark,

This could seriously cut into my free time available to blog! So many reviews...so little time!

Cathy,

This is cool. Superpages.com has somthing similar...Report Incorrect Listings...I went ahead and reported an incorrect listing last night for All American Florist in Medford NJ. Waiting to see results. I provided my e-mail contact info. I could spend months doing this with all the OG's listed. You're right...who is going to police all the changed information being sent? This could be WAR!!!

Victoria,

You are too much! I went to see if your review was posted, but alas, no review yet! I can only imagine what you came up with! I write lots of reviews for all my friends who are in business, and I would urge FC members to encourage reviews be written for their shops! Sure makes your ad stand out in the crowd of florists listed who don't have reviews. I have had plenty of new customers comment that they found us at superpages.com. I always ask customers how they found us. I have just started to ask our customers who are pleased with our flowers and services to kindly take the time to write a review. Good stuff!

Brat,
I just went and rated All American Florist in Medford, NJ. The only problem is the rater (me) is from Illinois. My rating in Granite City, IL is posted.

Carol,

I cannot find the review listed for your city on All American Florist. When did you see it there? I just checked and it says, "Not Yet Rated." I did find the "Rate It" for them in Medford NJ, but only when I clicked on "Local Only." Your review is not posted here either. There is no "Rate It" available for From You Flowers. Darn...I really want to give them a sweet little review!

When I registered (so I could write the review), it said it wouldn't be viewable for 24 hours, after reviewing content.

Dianne,

I am stumped...who knows how they are really doing business at SuperPages.
I saw mine in my city yesterday. Is there another dimension we don't know about???:hammer:

I'm interested in the issue of Flowers with Gifted Elegance, since I live in Randolph NJ. Were they using a phony address? I've heard reference made to this "business" but don't know the details. Anyone know the story?
Those guys are the 'Mothers' of deceptive order gathering. Their scams were been featured on NBC's DateLine several years ago. A couple states have clamped down on them, but it's mostly wrist slapping compared the the $ they generate.

Their MO has been to buy local phone numbers, name them as local flower shops, i.e. "Randolph Florist" (sometimes adding fake local addresses) gather the orders, extract fees and commissions and send them back to real local florists to fill. They generally only get 'caught' when there's a non-delivery or if the buyer sees the flowers and complains that the arrangement isn't what he/she expected.

The tactic of fictitious flower shops has been so 'successful' that it's been copied by a number of others, including Best Floral of Waukesha WI (the fake address florist seen on this Boston TV Station report), Aaah Flowers/All American Florist (mentioned in this thread), Who Sent Flowers (hit with penalties by the TN AG) and others.

You wouldn't want to get a job at FWGE's Randolph call center and give us an insider expose', would you?

Me too...

I wrote a little ditty about the YP's on the Real Florist Blog just this morning about the YP's... might be good if some of you added your 3 cents to it via comments... with any luck the links to the YP's will get their attention...

Just an undate and this may be my final act as a florist because I've had enough. I have printed out copies from SuperPages with all the bogus addresses from aahflowers.com from all over the state of Illinois. I am making copies with WHOIS, other paperwork and sending packages to FTD, TF, FTC and hand delivering copies to my U.S. Senator. I doubt it will have any impact, but I will feel better to get just 1 OG laid to rest for a short time.

Mike Soenen is a very good personal friend of mine and has been for many years and it's all about the $$$$$$$$ and you don't give a s*** about real florists who go home with aching feet, legs and cuts on our hands. Sorry, Mike, but you and I both know it and that's why I'm getting out of the floral industry. Design is something I love and I'm not bad at it, but this is MY final straw. If it wasn't, I would spend my money to form a class action law suit, but like all of you, we don't make enough. It's sad to see an industry like ours in such a dire need of just a dozen of so lawyers to fight for what's right...not for money. (NEVER HAPPEN! lol)
Someday, and I probably won't see it, there aren't going to be the wire services or the OG's because there won't be any real florist to feed their orders to fill. There will always be florists and @@@@ good ones that take care of their customers by calling another florist direct for 100% of the order, but it's not going to happen anytime soon because we too are greedy, but too stupid to see the writing on the wall. I admit it, I too am stupid for going along with the flow, making excuses that I'm too busy to make any changes in the way I do business. My excuse days are over and hopefully by Feb 1st I will be gone, working in another industry with their own problems, but I can work 9 -5 and go home and not worry about the worries I have today.

Wow.

Know how you feel. Disgust and revulsion at a once proud industry that is literally going to the dOGs.

I'm not ready to quit - yet - but there are days... The WS and OG apologists cast these kinds of tactics as 'aggressive marketing' and sometimes it seems there are just a very few of us who have integrity when it comes to selling.

By choosing NOT to go the fake 'free delivery', dOG, route and fight fire with fire, one of my friends put it succintly - "You florists are showing up to a gun battle with butter knives."

Sweetscented, I'm sending you a big hug.

Mark,
Actually, superpages.com does have a link where you can report incorrect listings. Check it out when you view the listings for your town. I took the time to fill out an incorrect listing report on All American Florist in Medford NJ. Have not received a response although I provided my contact info. The report I completed was just a few days ago.

I also tried to "RATE IT" All American Florist Medford NJ-this was my review word for word:
This "florist" is not located in Medford NJ. They are a deceptive order
gatherer. Order your flowers from a REAL FLORIST that is actually located in
Medford NJ. For more information check out the following websites:
