B Brooks

I'd be happy if every florist and every WS had to have complete transparency with all transactions. The real bottom line is:
1) Do customers get what they ordered?
2) Were they pleased with the values of the products delivered?

I supposed consumers and florists would be concerned if they were unhappy with B Brooks' services. They aren't. If I'm wrong, please point me to the complaints about the company.

I know you wouldn't need my help finding rants and complaints about TF, FTD, 1-800 and the top-volume OGs.

Added: Mark - there's no B Brooks member in Midland right now. Might be somthing you're interested in.

Who is telling customers we aren't using TF if a B Brooks order goes via TF to a non-covered area? We never mention TF when we wire out an order, only that we'll take care of it for them. If you're up front about how BBrooks works, shouldn't be an issue. As their membership grows, the reliance on TF should be less and less anyway.

Mark, no B Brooks in Midland? Heck, even Butler has a B Brooks florist.

Don't feel bad.

I'm feeling a little neglected...

No one has orders for Midland because they already know just to call you direct. That is why they haven't called. Reputation baby.

Own your backyard.

I don't know...far as I can tell there is no way to search their site for one?

Probably because they limit their membership significantly, so there may be only one per town.

I enjoyed B Brooks when I had my shop in the States. They have a fair system (High End), but it offers your customer piece of mind if they are willing to pay the price. We often recieved great comments from our clients and they appreciated the service B Brooks had to offer, I would highly recommend you learn more of what they have to benefit your shop, if you like how it feels, " sign up", I do not think you will be disappointed.

I think they want the order to go thru them, you silly ass.:yourock:

What happens when a customer wants to spend "only" $50.00 (or someother lower priced item) on bouquet?

Is that customer turned away and told to shop elsewhere?

Also, it sounds like this company is looking for upscale - trendy florists to partner with for outgoing orders. If the customer is lead to believe their outgoing order is going to receive high-style treatment, but there is no BB affliate member in that destination town and the order goes through TF what happens to quality control?

We've gotten these occasional orders - typically $100+ - "No baker, no liatris, no carns, no gyp, no mums" are the specs, with some design parameter like "low compact vase arrangement, cylinder or cube". The orders have been called to us first, then placed after they make sure we have something that will fit within their scope.

I guess you could put it that way. It's more along the lines of 'we want to not only meet, but exceed your expectations'. The group is known for premium flowers, and it's difficult to deliver them on low budgets. It's the company's niche.

The minimum order is $50 including delivery within the network, but members prices can & do start at higher amounts for cut flower designs.

We've been a member for only 2 months and have had no problems placing orders through the network, including a few for $50. Zero complaints, and a few rave reviews. (Of course, we missed out on earning those delayed resp$on$e buck$. ;) )

You can request a specific florist in an area where there's no B Brooks member and that's worked well for us, too.

One of the things that I have really enjoyed about B Brooks is how it helps create a common level of understanding between shops across the board. Getting or sending a B Brooks order says a lot of things that Teleflora simply isn't.

This serves the clients we have on both sides who are willing to pay the money that we all know we need to make something gorgeous, fabulous and stunning and also builds a greater trust relationship with our customers.

So yes, this is definitely a niche market. But it's nice to have the validation from that niche that flowers *are* an art form and yes, they *do* cost money if you want something amazing.

You should definitely look into it because as the membership grows the better it is for all members to have access to each other.

I like BBrooks. They generally are more higher end arrangements. you receive 72% of product and 100% of the delivery. Most range from $50 to $100. One thing that has not been mentioned is the new minimum order fee. If you send less than 10 orders per month, you will be charged $50. This will be starting this fall (I believe September). I am not fond of the new fee. I am undecided as to what I am going to do.

I was wondering when someone would mention the new $50 fee. I have been a member of BBrooks for 3 years and I have really liked the way they do business. It is great to be able to see the other member's designs and the checks are always prompt. However, since I am located in Canada aside from holidays I really don't get many orders and because I work from a studio I don't get enough orders for the United States per month to make their new minimum quota .Their new minimum is more orders per month from me than I ever get from them aside from Christmas and Mother's Day since Canada is not even mentioned on their website other than in the questions area.At this point I am leaning toward not continuing as a member although I have mixed feelings about it.

Good observaton but honestly with the signatures on some of the orders that we have rec'd, these folks don't make their own calls and they really do not want to be bothered by looking any of us up....the last order was signed by a well known person who was also flying in on her private jet and needed something for the plane for the trip home...I will take that biz anyday over a FST order...lol

The plot thickens.....:icon15

Not really.... it's 10 outgoing orders with an average of $100/order including delivery. Let's see..... $50/mo vs $290 for TF and $235 for FTD and whatever BMT is is still a whole lot less.

not in all cases.

I pay $84.95 for FTD membership including Merc direct. No reciprocity, low sending or Quality Assurance fees either.

TF is $99 per month

Don't be, HERO said it best.

REALLY! Well, I guess that rules us out because we ONLY fill WIRE ORDERS with BAKER, Liatris, RED carns, REGULAR BB (not that new-fangled Million Stars stuff), and BIG, YELLOW Football Mums - all done 1-sided in a triangle design of course. We "accent" with a nice assortment of YELLOW and WHITE Cushion Poms!

(never mind the Hydrangea, Lisi, 6 varities of LA lilies, the Cym Orchid sprays, 3 var. of mini Callas, 6 colors of Roses, Agapantha, etc.......)

Oh, and we NEVER use those glass "Cube" things...the OASIS shows too much...

Hmmm...sounds like a WS to meee (low-sending fee?). But what do I know...

Cathy, your costs are way off. I don't pay NEAR those FTD or TEL fees. Also, 10 $100 avg orders? While not a problem with me ('cause of the area I am in...), I don't think that's quite fair to shops in areas who don't DO a lot of wire out biz. They may be smaller shops, or in areas that don't command that kind of volume and price point. But, they DO do high-end local work.

I'd better quit now. My sarcasm is fueled by my impending VACATION which I am in dire need of, and leaving for in 31 minutes.

Talk to y'all in a week.
