I heard they are recruiting shops for "everyday service" other than "high end".

Is this like VNS?

Won't this dilute their brand?

I got something in the mail yesterday, I didn't realize BBrooks was tiered until someone here informed me of it.

They are still very particular about the kind of shops they let in. From what I understand the second tier is not so much about lower quality shops as it as about shops that aren't expected (and can't afford) to have all of the expensive exotic stuff on hand at all times like the original members are.

I was surprised my shop was targeted, because I don't consider us a "high end" florist.

I'm not an expert but I don't think it's about "high-end" in terms of being expensive - more about good florists and solid design. I know for a fact that every shop has to be reviewed and approved - I've seen plenty that didn't make it.

Darrell -

Like I suggested in our PM exchanges yesterday, why not call them to see if they are a good fit for your shop.

Maybe they noticed the very pretty unique-to-your shop, couture designs on your site.

Cathy

You're right, I'm always willing to listen, I'll give them a call.

Well, I think we will sign up and give them a go-thanks Mark for the referral. But..........they just signed up 5 florists in my area, three are studio/event only and one is pretty old school with design. So as much as I want this to work out, I'm ever so slightly worried.
But keep'n positive anyway. According to the paperwork I got, a florist can cancel at any time and they seem pretty cool and easy to work with. I have not gone through all the paperwork, rules, proceedures yet. But thats because the evil Ryan put up this blasted Casino and I've gambled away all of my fake money.

I have been a member of Bbrooks since '04 and they are great. I did have to submit a portfolio and application to be accepted. I like that personally. I am the only shop in a huge are that is a member. I do believe they are more about Quality flowers and Solid Design. High end is a misconception...so is Snob Shop, which Ive seen posted on this site. I support them and suggest approaching them.

A little lesser known fact about Bbrooks is that they do have "signature" looks so that there can be a feeling of congruence among the shops. Most shops don't have to be dripping in orchids and all manner of exotic flora in order to be considered Bbrooks worthy. Goodness knows we aren't!

It really is more of a dedication to high quality over huge "for the money" arrangements. Bbrooks has cultivated a customer that is aware that a nice $50 arrangement looks more like something unexpected and seasonal flowers and any shop that is willing to deliver that look I am sure will find plenty support from us "original" members!

CHR turned BBrooks onto us and we have loved every minute of it. The florist that send are awesome...realistic in their pricing and delivery and we have not had one complaint from any sender yet..I just wish I could integrate them into my pos....

I think it will be a good thing. I just finished reading some of the guidelines and they say not to use BB, Birds, Waxflower, Carns and a few others I can't remember. While I never order most of the stuff on the list, I really like Waxflower and don't get the prejudice but I can follow the rules! We shall see what happens. Its all good...right?

We've been a BBrooks member for 6 years, and I can tell you other than the sending florist giving us specific parameters for what to send the recipient we have never been expected to provide a specific look. Most of the time in the description box it's "Designer's Choice".

We love BBrooks, the service is great as are the member florists.

I noticed on another thread someone advocating a boycott of TF/FTD, if you're unhappy with your wire service nickel and diming you death, and/or tired of creating what they want, instead of why you got into the business in the first place.

Give them a visit.

UPDATE: By the way, I've never been told by anyone at BBrooks what product I can and can't use. If you can work in BB (they don't call it that for nothin') or Wax Flower and make it look beautuiful, go for it.

I joined, thanks to Brandon (dazeal). It's been pretty good so far. I did read rules that said no carns, mums, bb, leather or birds of paradise (?). Compared to clearroot and direct2florist (0 orders in 2 months of belonging) bbrooks has been way better. I have been happy with my orders (nice totals) and my sendouts have been great and I've gotten good feedback. So I'm happy.

I anyone on here bbrooks? I've received emails and mailers from them. I only have Blooment, and truthfully I HATE wire services--I'd much rather deal direct. Besides, I don't depend on the orders. Has anyone signed on with bbrooks and if so what are your experiences?

Oh, there are lots of conversations talking about how much we love bbrooks. They treat their member shops very well.
