Things change fast sometimes. Just when you least expect it, you realize God is taking care of things.

It was 10pm last night (Wed). Erin's phone rings, from a 310 area code. She turns to her Mom. . . "Why is LA calling me this late?" It was a transplant coordinator from Cedars. . . . . Erin was not believing her ears.

Through an unfortunate accident in Pennsylvania, and the generous gift of donation, there were two kidney's available and soon to be on there way to California.

What was supposed to be a very, very unlikely possibility, happened. A kidney that is almost a perfect match is available. . . . . no guarantee. . . . Erin is #3 on the list. We were not given any hope of this happening for a few years.

An immediate decision needed to be made. . . . . because of Erin's plans to go to LA for the needed treatments to receive one of my kidneys, all the prep work and testing to be ready for transplant is in place there.

"Would Erin consider coming "now" to LA? After a couple calls back and forth, Erin was moved up to #2 on the list.

We talked and decided YES, she would come. This kidney is a match in 5 out of 6 factors, mine was only 3 out of 6 (with the IVIG treatments, it would go up to 4 of 6).

After scrambling to make spur of the moment arrangements, pack, line up help at the shop and about 1 1/2 hours sleep, I put my wife and daughter on a plane at 5am this morning. I hated not being able to be there myself. Just too much to handle here before I head out.

After arrival, around 11am this morning, they will head immediately to Cedars for some last minute checks on cross matching to make sure everything is okay.

I expect by this afternoon, they will head into surgery if all is okay. Still no guarantees about this.

It is just amazing. . . . . there is so much more to this story.

We are truly blessed to have so many friends and people we have not met yet praying for us. You can not imagine how things are coming together.

Just amazing. . . .really amazing.

I will probably not be checking back in here until later this afternoon. . . . I will let you all know asap.

CHR . . . . . I will be calling you this morning.

Glenn, gifts are many. I'm glad you and your family are recipients. Although, I'm not surprised... good things do happen to good people.

All the best and take care of eachother.
