Start REJecting orders...

TODAY then...anything that looks like a Duck, and smells like a Dot.Con.......start TODAY,this is the easy part.
Weaning florists from WS dependancy is gonna be darned near impossible!
I'm still an FTD guy, BUT, I've taken steps........

I'm still a guy too... and I AM TAKING STEPS! Feeling alot like Paul Revere must have felt all those many years ago...thing is, back then folks listened.

Seems funny to me, that some florists are more affraid of other florists than they are of the Boogey Man TFTD.

We're MAS - we switch to FTD because TF did not want to support our partial-independence - so now we're free. Still TF for the time being, as I'm waiting on a return call from people there. But WE do the wagging, now.

Once FSI becomes a viable Canadian option in the near future we'll be giving them a very close look. I'm not a hater of the WS model, but I loathe the Loblaws/Amazon/Walmart/ProFlowers/etc partnerships.

Good Thoughts........

I agree that June would be a long time to wait. I like the idea of stopping all incoming and outgoing right now and I will start that process in my shop in the AM. I will be using IFA from this time forward.

I also like the idea of each of us contacting 80 other florist, I will start that as soon as I sign off this board for the night.

Let's slow or even stop sending the big two WS.

We are REAL FLORIST, let's take back our industry........

Thanks for all the good thoughts and keep them coming

What is the connection

Between Pro Flowers and Teleflora" I know there has been charges of Teleflora supporting them for same day delivery.

I saw my field rep today and He stated that there was no connection between them. At least that he was aware of. According to him, their was no mention of such a "deal" at a January meeting of Reps.

Such an arrangement betweeen them, seems to fly in the face of other posts referencing Statements by Teleflora . Ones that, by text, exactly counter the precieved benifits and marketing efforts made by Pro flowers.

Glenn BecK, Of talk Radio. Today called Flowers from anybody but Pro Flowers as being CRAP. Doesn't sound like a relationship Teleflora would want to be associated with. Given the nature of who ultimately pays Telefloras bills.

I see that Pro Flowers offers same day service(up to 3pm no less). Is their definitive proof that Tel. directly handles these orders. Or are they "handled" by some other 3rd. party with membership?

Given the current state of affairs. It is not beyond the pale, that an established OG would sign up a contract to provide this service. Leaving Teleflora technically with clean hands. It's not like they are in a position to interfear with the operation of a members shop. (short of terminating the member anyway)

Is it proveable that Teleflora has dirty hands. or are they dusty from the loopholes? To me, there is a big difference.

I do find it hard to follow the logic or reason for Teleflora to have a direct hand in this deal while.

1. Intentionally keeping its service reps in the dark. Or.

2. Intentionally making them lie about it.

3. exchanging a war of words with proflowers.

The images on Proflowers same day delivery pages are Teleflora's.

And, honestly I don't see the difference where Real Florists are concerned.

Florist Express sucks in the ProFlowers orders and her evil twin, From You Flowers, spits them out via Dove. Cloaked. Both feature Teleflora products almost exclusively - and the newest wrinkle is the promise of a "Free Vase" with some of these florist-delivered orders.

Liars! Liars! Where's the Federal Trade Commission when you need them?

Just noticed they're charging an extra $4.99 deliver fee for Sat, Sun or Monday. Wonder how much of that will be passed on to the florists? Sure....

I really don't know but will give you an 'A' for enthusiasm. :)

In a related note, the FloristExpress/Florist-delivered side of the ProFlowers site has now removed all descriptions stating 'free vase.'

Nice to see that a bit of heat generates some action...

If it holds, it's one small step for florists, and one small step for consumers...

time will tell, could be just for today as now:

It's OUR DAY! Only florist delivered orders!
