I'm bored and sick of trying to think of ways to drum up business at the moment so I was just thinking,"What career would I choose if I could choose anything else besides florist?"
Here's a few I would try:
Journalist
Mystery Author
Heiress(my favorite)
Veterinarian
Rich Widow (2nd choice)
Anyone else want to play, If I Could Be Anything?

I'm on board for Heiress too!

Well I used to think Lawyer...but not anymore. Then (as we know) I thought of psychologist...nah, not anymore.

Now I'm thinking if this flower shop gig doesn't work out I think I will go to school to become a radiology tech or maybe a dietitian.

Dietitian has just been recent. I've been on a diet or actually, I've made lifestyle changes to get healthy and lose weight. I've only been really serious since like the end of July. But I have been dropping weight since January. Anyway-In my research the past couple of months to figure out why I eat what I have eaten and how it effects me- I find it sooo interesting.
I've dropped 50lbs as of this morning since January. And I have a loooong way to go.

But I'm fickle as plaid, so who knows, next week I may want to be something else.

I'm telling!

Anyway, what a nice game.

Every time I get into a conversation with people about retirement, we get all wistfull and sigh. Ah....if only and when....
They list their dreams, and then I frickin' realize I'm living mine!

You know when I sit and daydream and think of what I would do with my time if I could do anything at all...I just find fault with everything....either it doesn't seem rewarding enough, exciting enough, too much work, not enough work, too tedious etc. etc. etc...there are lots of things I enjoy, but once they become work I no longer enjoy it...

So if I were to play I would say, I want to be something different everyday...I want to be able to wake up and decide each day what I want to do spontaneous style....it is fantasy land right....

Other than that, I am like Linda...I am living my dream...even though I may get frustrated with the shop and management or customers, when it comes right down to brass tacks, I wouldn't want to be doing anything else...maybe what i would like is to become so demanded as a designer that I could become a frelancer an flit about the area and work somewhere different every week...that would be fun...

well me, I would go back into the greenhouse, growing/production arena.

Or I would be a farmer of veggies - not corn or soybeans etc.

then in random order
music editor/mixer
wilderness fishing guide
geologist
jewelry designer
botanist

Hmm.....I'm not one to just lounge around have to be working....(not housework, laundry or such)....
Since I don't want to see hapless pets guess I don't want to be a vet tech anymore either.......
I really don't know what I would want to do.....
Ah, go full time RVing and visit ALL of the NA$CAR tracks and races (guess that fits in with Powerball winner LOL )

I've always thought that my dream job would be head of a foundation... I would give out money to worthy causes all day!

I have to chuckle about this thread. We had both our son (physics major) and nephew (comp sci engineer something) to dinner. we were discussing career paths and my hubby (the comic) said to them "so when are you 2 going to invent warp and beaming technology so we can all quit our jobs (and be rich)." ha ha ha.

If I had the resources... I'd buy land in Muskoka and have a retirement home for dogs and cats... A safe place for them to be happy and live out their days in peace.

And then, I'd write.

I too am just a lil ole florist.... living the dream...
