If You Could be Anything Else

I'm definitely living my dream, but since it's so new I think a lot about what I would do if it all fell apart. I've decided I would move to New England and live/work at a meditation retreat. If this shop doesn't work out I would love to live in silence for awhile. If I got tired of that, I would still want to be in some charming New England town doing something cute. Maybe working at a really cute florist in a cute little town where the houses all have porches. I feel so called to that area. I know that sounds weird but I feel like I belong there. Although, I can't stand when the weather drops below 80 so hopefully I could still adjust OK.

Chantelle, are you involved in the new theatre in Chatham? You're getting some really great talent there.

No, but I support it. I've had to give up theatre since I had my kids. I just don't have enough time to run the store, be with my kids AND rehearse 3 nights a week.
That theatre is very controversial. It took 12 years to finally complete and millions of dollars more than projected. It was supposed to be, I think, a 3 year project, so there are a lot of people in town who are opposed to it and the city's contribution.
I think it's good for everyone now that it's finished. Downtown really needs a revival.
Bill Cosby was just here for the opening weekend.

Seeing as all my training during my post secondary years was in law enforcement, I should want to do that, but I don't. Ive always dreamed of being a pilot, I just need someone to fund it. Operations Manager of a business is close.....right?

that would make you a "co-pilot"??....:)

Chantelle, there will always be opposition to the arts in a community. I'm glad it's a completed project and I have no doubt it will be a great success. Great productions and talent will be a draw for Chatham.

When the JLC in London was being built there was a ground swell of opposition. It's now a highly ranked facility in Canada with awesome talent... including NHL games and Broadway productions.

I have been so lucky to have two great careers that I love. The first was graphic design/marketing, and now wedding flowers. The best part about my job, though... is the fact that I get to be home with my two munchkins much of the time.

Well I went to school to be a Researcher and Professor of Sociology/ Psych. (Specifically on autism and the effects of therapy). I'm still amazed that my life didn't take that route. I could of made a whole lot more money and here I am paying off those loans for 30 years.

The last career I'd ever thought I'd be in is this.

I have been giving that a lot of thought lately as, some days, it seems I will need to make a career change if I wish to continue eating. I used to say Actor, but after acting for several years and seeing the work behind the glamor I'd rather have that be a hobby. I am very interested in gem cutting and jewelry design and would probably consider going back to school to pursue such a career. Sky being the limit, I'd most like to be a Gentleman Farmer a la Thomas Jefferson (sans the slaves of course). I had the benefit of growing up in a great old Virginia country house and would love to return to a more genteel, slow paced life.

I too have changed my eating habits and got into a sideline of work because of it. It's profitable and when things are slow in the shop, it's doing well. But most of all, I feel good and have lost tons of inches and don't crave food. I am becoming a wellness coach.
I love Mighty Mouse: Here I come to save the day! I am doing that and doing flowers.
