"I think what the Street is missing is that it's not just rising online advertising costs that are the problem," says Rebecca Kujawa, an analyst at Stanford Group, a Houston investment bank. "Their business model has weaknesses its peers don't have." According to Kujawa, Provide's success has prompted rival 1-800-Flowers to introduce a comparable low-cost product, eliminating Provide's competitive edge.

"Here FTD and 1-800-Flowers are less vulnerable, because they rely on local florists. However, Provide relies on FedEx and UPS, which readily pass along fuel-charge increases. These rising fuel costs will continue to cut into margins."

Can you "imagine"...

IF WE REAL FLORISTS "added" OUR OWN market capitalization to the industry "fold", as a "separate entity" on the balance sheets of these WS's/wannabees...what would happen in the buy/sell/hold strategies??
IF each of us, stated cash reserves of $5,000.00, and a market finance capitalization of 10 times cash reserves/and/or earnings, we OURSELVES could "dilute" the holdings of ALL the WS's AND OG's by over HALF, rendering THEIR business "models" DEAD!!
