...and daydream of winning the lottery....
Once I do you will never ever see "shannonlovesflowers" ever again...
...

You mean you won't be one of those people that says "... winning this $50 million will not change my life at all. I won't quit my waitress job, won't sell my little house that is falling a part, and won't trade in my defunct auto...":soapbox:

In my spare time -- I drive my children from lesson to lesson. That's my life right now and I accept it... One of my favorite things to do is drink a cup of coffee and read a design book in peace. Guess I'm a "chiller" also.

btw, have you thought of writing a book???

I have actually considered it... often. I just can't seem to rein my thoughts in to a manageable resource!

Franca, you can stay at my place... I know your sister is here too, but I can ply you with wine too.

I would love for Alana to write. She has a great way with words. I have saved all her writings from her various adventures.

:) I'm hoping to be able to pick her up on Tuesday morning (I think they're flying to Detroit). At anyrate that was one of the ideas I was going to put forward to her. She needs me for spelling issues. ;) Her other South American adventures are posted in this community as well... under "travellers prayer". She has some pretty entertaining missives in there.

Yes we are being creative. By the way, your sister can stay here too. :)

I have so many things that I love to do but rarely get the time to do them...The list is here...I do do some when I get the extra moment..

Home improvement projects
painting
Redecorating
building

Gardening(I built a backyard koi pond with the help of my husband, dad and brother) This is my oasis and I channel all of my woes here and the pond sucks them up and filters them away

MMO computer games(new hobby)

music and live shows(I wish I could play an instrument)

Drawing (haven't done this in a long time)

painting miniatures and making terrain with hubby for his various gaming geek adventures

I can crochet, needlepoint, and other various crafty things.

I make halloween costumes from scratch(someday I may even post the pics of some of my favs tin man, wind up doll)

I am a big fan of making people laph and that takes some creativity..

there is so much more....

finding time.

My kids are 16 & 20 so they don't need my "hands on" as much
and hubby is great around the house. can't remember the last load of laundry I washed :) But I always have clean clothes. :) :)

Michigan winters are long, dark and cold. So I can usually be found beading in my toasty warm craft room with NPR.

oh hell no!

Oh, and I also forgot to mention, I like to play yahtzee, can't ever find anyone to play yahtzee with me tho.

Wow everyone is so talented. These are some of the things I like best.

Earliest passion, pencil drawing, charcoals and pastels.

Sewing, my sister and I were sewing when we were around 6, got a mini singer sewing machine one year for christmas. If we made something and it wasn't right, we would have to rip out the stitches and do it again.

Stampin and scrapbooking

Poetry, started about 7 years ago, thing just started popping in my head and I wrote them down.

Gardening, veggies and flowers.

Anything that has me working with my hands.

Also, I have been writing a book about our family. I started writing it about 5 years ago for my sisters birthday. Every year I give her a new chapter. Our mother died from cancer when she was 35 and it is mostly memories from our years growning up before she died. Maybe one day I will finish the book.

Anything that has me working with my hands.

Amen...I suspect that is all of our common denominator, our 'x' factor. LOL:bouquet:
We are all fortunate that our fingertips are extensions of our creative visions.

BTW, Shannon, will I still be your friend when you win that lottery, hint hint...will you fly us (includes yourself of course) over for Victoria's booksigning?!?!

This is fun..
creative things I like to do:

Plan parties...the bigger the better, I'm always in search of a new theme. "why just do it when you can - over do it"! My goal is to get a WOW out of everyone that attends.

Organize events: I Co-chair our towns biggest festival. www.middletownheritagefestival.com

Buy toys: I buy all the toys for the Salvation Army in our county. Last year I bought toys for over 1800 kids , each kid gets 3 gifts. Truck loads and truck loads of toys !! We do a fundraiser on a radio station and all the money we raise goes to buy the toys 100% of it !! Last year we raised $120,000 awesome.

Make costumes: I love halloween!! i am always thinking of what would make a good costume. My best so far: a peacock with full tail that raises and opens up. The man from the operation game, complete with blinking nose, tweesers and resest bones, you could actually play him!!

I just like to always be doing something, planning, organizing, thinking. I love a challenge..

gotta get ready for "The Match Game" party tonight!!
Dumb Dora ... Gene Rayburn... Fun fun fun..

I am so glad at the response to this thread! I just knew you all did a lot of things. I have a theory about this multiple creativity thing, I think that's why I love being a florist. Yes I love flowers, creating beauty for people, and so on. But I really love that I'm required to do so many other creative things too. The flowers and the design part are just a small percentage really.

creative thru and thru

Before I was a florist, I was taught floral art at an early age, so in my spare time, that is one of my hobbies. I draw, sketch charcoal, paint contemporary paintings but my passion is pastels. I love anything whimsical, I love beading- especially spear grass, and tatami matting, and looping leaves and..........well anything creative actualy.:)

I did drawing and painting when I was younger, now I faux paint walls and such when I get a chance. I had so many things I have dabbled with over the years that when my sister talked me into trying to make one of a kind santas all of those things came into play. That was a side income for me for quite a few years, not so much anymore, although I do a few now and again.

If I want to do something fun on the side it's jewelry making with beads, old jewelry and whatever else isn't nailed down or too big. Try to paint on occasion, but my main interest is surfing the internet and playing with Photoshop on my computer. I find so many ideas and new products out there, it's never ending.

I loved playing Yahtzee... it's been forever ago.

some people don't even know what yahtzee is. I love it. I also like gin rummy.. especially fun if you just make up the rules as you go along.....

I also like game shows like Jeopardy.. I'm totally good at Jeopardy. I almost always get final jeopardy...

I have even thought about moving to Cali so I can just go on game shows for a living! Sounds good to me!

I KNOW I'M A DORK!!!!!

And to answer a different question, Yes I will still be ya'lls friend if I win the lotto. I plan on buying first thing a big RV and hitting the road with my hubby, my sissy (the good one) my dad and mom! We will go all over. And we will be staying at fine hotels! I really can't wait to win the lottery......

Shannon, get the battery operated yahtzee game. We have had them for years. I remember playing yahtzee with my Grandmother (40 years ago), I'm not really that old,..........!!!!
