Proflowers Video Ranking

Typing "Pro Flowers" with the space between the two words ranks the video at 4th on Google. Only a fraction of our link campaign has kicked-in. I'm hoping by tomorrow more of it will kick-in and the SEO's for Proflowers will see there Valentine's Day present of frozen roses out ranking their own website.

Position #9 from this view - no not logged in.

"Pro flowers" Position 4 from here
"Proflowers" Position 14 WoW!!!!

Thats just crazy!!!

Does the comments help as well on the Video? Last night I dug into our blog and found an article and added another link. I also then posted a response another response to someone posting about the delivery. Perhaps we should try somemore responses on the video as well?

Just think, only 2 out of our 18 websites have been crawled so far. I have two PageRank 4's pointing to it that have yet to be crawled and Flowerchat.com and Florist Detective are yet to be crawled too (at least as of this writing).

Where are you verifying this?

Click here for what Googlebot sees of flowerchat: http://72.14.253.104/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2007-51,GGLG:en&q=cache:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flowerchat.com%2F

Notice that the anchor text "Proflowers" doesn't not exist in the navagation menu when it does in real time. The same goes for the other sites.

Btw, I changed my "How-to" article to a News story because yesterday I had 200 hundred clicks on that page. There are probably more than 18 websites on board with our crusade and in order for us not to foil our plan and tricker Google's bomb filter it was best to pull it.

...and no....nobody clicked on the ads.

Mac,

You're mixing up crawling, indexing and caching. Different processes.

FlowerChat, as a relatively busy site, is crawled constantly. We have 72 bots crawling the site as we speak, and get about 10,000 bot hits a day. Believe me, Google knew about the links I added about 30 seconds after they went live.

FWIW - The datacentre I'm accessing already has the page with the link cached.

If Mac has links on Pr4 sites, they will have been crawled by now as well.

Ryan

Ryan's point highlights the complexities of SEO and how different data centers are reacting as we go through this process in real-time.

My attempt to write in layman terms and by general example has been taken by Ryan as an opportunity to make me look bad.

After the procedures of crawling, indexing, and caching are fully realized in perhaps a future snapshot of the same cache, we'll let Google prove the point.

This has been fun!

Ryan you have a PR4 site - is it linked?

I think it's a great example of how we overlook the power we have collectively to advance information.

Think of what we could accomplish with even just a few hundred shops (although WS hosted sites are hamstrung by the WS Link Police.)

Just remember that the target company has very deep pockets and will no doubt have time to try and boost other sites above the video after it reaches page 1 - so we'll need to continue to suggest that florists join in.

Just a note regarding what CHR said about getting more florists to join in. And I think even Ryan would agree with me on this (but who knows), in order to avoid the Google bomb filter we need to mix the anchor text for those who will be adding links in the future. In other words, use anchor text like this: Pro flowers & this: Proflowers.com .

It is a subtle difference that accomplishes two goals: 1) Avoids filter detection. 2) Also strengthens the web-presence of variant "Proflower" phrases.

So those who haven't linked yet but are thinking about it please use anchor text that is slightly different than what I originally spelled out.

Ok, I have tried to follow this and one minute I get the feeling that it is ok to follow Mac advice...don't know Mac..then I read that it isn't..then I read that it is. I am bouncing like a rubber ball here. On top of which, I'd like to assist but haven't the foggiest idea of where to start..or if I should start...can we make a KISS list for me....someone hold my hand please.

The overall concept is good I think and it should be interesting to see what transpires tomorrow and beyond. The same thing I think can be done with many other " venues ", but I must agree that there are many here that are probably having a difficult time figuring out what's being talked about and suggested.
Everyone is out for the same thing as I see it, yet following and understanding the whole thing is difficult as at times it appears more personal, in effect and theory, than cooperative and beneficial to a group.

Now I hope I've said this right as I respect and admire all concerned.
Maybe we can somehow make the thread a bit more user friendly at times for all concerned, who will be essential to a large undertaking and streamline creative differences to a more passive level for the benefit of the group !

Methinks the guys are on to something here and it can grow into something that we need as long as focus is maintained, but the rest need to understand whats going on to be able to participate and help.

I really hope this came out in a way that everyone understands and that no-one takes offense.

This can be a cooperative effort, that also could be good for us all.

Or it can be a testosterone fueled pissing match.

I prefer the prior and am having fun being part of it.

It's really got some great potential.
