Some people just need a chance.

Thom, I thank you for posting this, Yes I still cry everytime, I hear this song, and I think that we all need to really use this in our way of business, As I say this, yes this post has beeen up for a few day's now, but hadn't wanted to say this, I meet with a bride a few day's ago, and just did the way we always sell to them , offer the drink , food, the normal stuff , The way I am , at the end of the consult, gave her the price of what she wanted, and she booked, and the looked at me and said" You didn't ask about my ring/" Well I didn't think about it, saw it on her finger, and that was it, So happens she has a plain ring on her hand because when she wore her real one, Folks just assummed she could pay more, and jacked the prices up, Well, so when she pulled it out, it didn't change the price, Here she gave me a big hug, and So Then just for giggle, I showed her mine in my bag, and the reason is the same for me, that when brides see mine they think they can't afford to do business with me, Hey I have no money, The king does, So it just goes to show..you can't judge. She had been to 4 shops, and then other folks told her to do the ring thing, I know myself, how I am judged. sometimes, it is so hard, and sad it is not what you have or what the outside looks like, It is the inside that matters.

Queen, great story! I must be weird as I never notice rings unless they are huge and I could'nt tell a real diamond from a fake! The only rings I have are the ones around me eyes. Heh....

I was mesmerized yesterday, when I first saw this, and the look(s) in Simon Cowell's face(s) tells the entire tale(s)....
The voice of an angel, the appearance of an unfettered country gal.....
Truly, truly, an inspiration...

It shocked me to hear someone describe Susan as being overweight with awful hair. I didn't see either of those things....still don't. I thought she was a bit shy and nervous to the point of being a bit silly, nothing more.

Then, whamo! That voice and the incredible emotion that it evoked made me want to stand, cheer, cry, and sing with her except that I did not want to miss a single note.

I've lost count of how many times I watched it now.

Connie - You and me both - You know I work with my church's band.....and I am used to fantastic singers....She blew me away.

Me too Connie. You know what I hope? She said she never was kissed? I hope that dream comes true for her too. But I fear that some idiot man will take advantage of her and her new found fame.

Exactly Thom!! Some idiot will try and I just hope miss thing can spot him a mile away!

I love how at the beginning she has that look like the cat that ate the canary. She knew she was going to blow us all away unexpectedly and she was enjoying that.

I think we all are guilty at one time or another of judging the book by it's cover. We're used to popular entertainers being gorgeous, that's how the system works these days, the unattractive singers rarely advance in the industry.

I am so inspired.

That absolutely just disgusts me. How horrible of some people. The devil is always waiting to taint the pure.

she didn't start out too good (butterflies, I guess) but she picked right up and took it to the max - again. Good for her. (and yes I like her "refined" touches)

Everyone loves her over here. I think she will walk it and i want her to win as well. (Still want my cousin to do really really well though too.)

I think its all about hidden talent and agree with ivy about the charm of the country about her. She lives in a small village in Scotland with her cat. As soon as she came on i said she is going to be good and i cried when i first heard her.

One of my pet hates is mocking people for being out of the norm. It really really grates on me. I would happily poke Amanda Holden in the eye with a fork for the way she reacted and also for her comments afterwards, something along the lines of, we were not expecting that, why? cos she had not had £1000s of pounds of cosmetic surgery like herself and stepped on peoples heads to get where she is. Sorry, dont like her, parasite!!

May Susan Boyles' "day in the sun" continue on and on. Hearing her sing gives me chill bumps.

Saw the vid yesterday. Love it. What would we do without U tube???

also caught some 17 year old name of Shaun Smith and wow does he have a nice voice.

It is truly a treat to listen to vocalist's with such great voices that haven't been enhanced with technology like some of the so called "hot" talent promoted today.
