I just don't get it

Sorry about the name switch.
I still can't see how someone can stay in business charging just a nominal fee for outgoings & getting little in Over The Counter (OTC) & incomings. They're losing the 20% on the outgoing order. (every little bit helps)

Rickie - I hate to burst yer bubble, but I send a few orders and AIFD is not in my criteria of whether a shop will do a good job for us or not. I don't believe that is any guarantee of making my customer happy and representing them well.

Unless I specifically want an *Artsie* arrangement - which is so seldom it virtually never happens.

Most/virtually all of our orders are for well crafted pretty vases of long lasting flowers - just what the doctor orders.

No bubble bursted at all Bloomzie. My post reflected the opinion of three people named Me, Myself, and I.

You have your own methods of serving your customers, meeting and exceeding their needs and wants, and I am sure you do the utmost you can for them.

My methodology is just that....my methodology. As I said in the POS thread. I can only relate my own experiences, my own thought, my own opinions.

I value yours and others.

If anything is learned from this thread..........It would be... TO SERVE YOUR CUSTOMER THE BEST WAY YOU KNOW HOW.

just thought of this. next time just send the order tothe filling shops website. forego the commission and the agravation

The only problem with this solution is that you'll be paying sales tax. And that comes out of your pocket.

Florist-to-florist is (or should be) tax free since YOUR customer has already paid YOU sales tax.

When I do the direct ordering I do not ask for the 20% discount, because I think the filling florist appreciates it much more and will do a much better job. Some are very nice and offer me the discount though. I do take a $10 relay fee where before it was $8, but I hear if you place an order online with one of the WS or OG they charge between $12-$14. No problems yet!

actually the customer will pay it. just don't charge them the sales tax in your state.

right or wrong? I don't know, but I bet in an audit, it would be approved.

As long as you provide me with your tax number, my assumption is that the sales tax has been paid in the originating state...
