That would be perfect English grammar and spelling in Miami. It's pretty much how the Latins disect our language. :hippy2:
I guess the irony is that it's perfect English grammar and spelling in about 95% of the countries where English is spoken.
The only major exception would be the U.S.
Now who's disecting OUR language?? :beer
I give this florist the award for the poorest spelling and grammar.
It is a paid google listing found on the other chat board whose ad stated something about "% of FTD Orders"
Is this a "real" florist located in San Diego?
http://www.floweraffair.net/
Look at the top paragraph intro.
Off to whois ....... whois shows as a legit shop in San Diego, but if that is an FTD executed site as it states, their editors need English lessons or can you produce your own site through ftdfloristsonline now?
"alot"?????I'm glad I'm not the only one that has a problem with this type of stuff. I am a stickler for proper use of correctly spelled words. Sometimes a typo happens but I find that alot of people use your for you're and similar things. I may not have the best grammar, but I try.
watch it there. I'm half spanish! That would be perfect English grammar and spelling in Miami. It's pretty much how the Latins disect our language. :hippy2:
the half that knows it's not cool to make raciest comments on fc. the other half is made up of German, Scandinavian, and black dutch, and they all feel the same way.Which half?
My favorite is "where are you AT".While "alot" does not exist as a word, it is a common practice to join the a and lot together.
Allot does exist as a word however.
It too drives me nuts when I see people write "your going to love this"... ARGHHHHH It's a contraction of you are, therefore the correct spelling and use is "you're going to love this". This drives me to distraction.
I heard on the news the other day that the U.S. youth population is teetering on spelling illiteracy due to texting and the like. Sadly many people think "how r u" is an actual English sentence.

]]My favorite is "where are you AT".
for the record, i really don't care too much in here, but i'm always concerned when we are putting an ad together.
if i ever quit my current gig, i could be a copy editor!
that's funny!I actually saw this with my own eyes and almost wrecked my van:
On a HUGE light up sign with scrolling words:
Outback Steakhouse:
Try ARE Ribs
:hammer:
well, if i got too "proper" in here my personality wouldn't show.]]
Personally I think we need to care every time we sit down to write.

Fairfield, because I work with so many people from all over the planet my take on their language skills is much different. Most of them have more than one language under their belt, most of them have studied English as a second or third language. I'm monumentally impressed by them.
I am unimpressed by the people who are born and raised in an English speaking home and can't string a sentence together that makes sense in either grammar or spelling.
