I got hit with a low one too. I figured it's just a matter of taste.
I was cleaning out my closet last night and found some score/evaluation sheets from different contests. I was surprised by the different remarks. One person would give me a 9 or 10 and then another judge would give me a 7.. So who knows..

My new favorite thing is (since I first saw this this morning) is seeing how many people viewed my arrangement. 4420 so far, that is such a trip to me.
That is so much fun..
I wonder who they are... I wonder what they thought. It's like this mysterious group of people. such a trip.
Are those people able to see albums on our profile pages??

But I wonder why they looked at it. Who were they. Are they florists? Non florists? Was is it some one really cool like Rich Salvaggio? Doubt it, but it's fun to think about!
What are they looking in the gallery for in the first place. wedding stuff? garden club stuff? Stuff like that. I drive myself crazy.
I know, I know. I'm a freak.

Most likely, they just googled for Roses, or some other generic search term, and the photos on FC came up. also, remember that many FC members are checking back in often to read the comments left, and leave their own remarks. so each one of these "visitors" may not be new & unique visitors.
I agree, though, that it's quite a trip to see how many people have actually peeked!!!!

So are there really 4 THOUSAND people in five days who looked at Shannon's flowerchat gallery? That's freakin awesome, though I do still wonder if those "bot" thingies are in the count as well. Heck, even if it's 4 HUNDRED people, that's still great.

edid: just to clarify - this is not meant to diminish the gallery, or the purpose of the gallery, or the fabulousness of anyone's entry. Just a question about actual people #'s vs slurp spiders.

I am wondering like Shannan and the rest of the posters..does 9,250,000 views mean folks, the ones with a heartbeat, actually visited the site or is a bot just somethng that got loose from it's cage and travelled here. Is there a way to tell us how many heart-beating folks visited? Now that woud be fun-ner to know I think. Can we tell if their heart rate increased while looking at the pics...just kidding...but what's real and what's not on the numbers...

There is just no way 150 new views in 5 hours. I think something is wrong. It was one of the last ones uploaded and it has the most views..
ALMOST every other pic is around 1500 to 2000 views.

I wonder if someone has linked to the pic from another site? That can generate a lot of views, like another florist or something? Or even posted it on another message board? Ryan could maybe find out if it's linked from another site.

I do not have the numbers of people VS bots here at FC, but I do know that some of the spiders slurp up our image content and place it well on the web.
Look at SE Image searches with a floral design term and you're likely to run into an FC image or four. If our members would do a better job of creating titles, descriptions and tags, they'd be found even better.
There's so little unique content in regard to floral design, so the FC gallery is truly a Mecca. So upload and share something comment-worthy and fabulous today.
